Peter Obi is just looking for attention again; he doesn’t understand the meaning of unity in action. Otti knows better than to follow this unserious game.
you lied. Protest is a constitutional right. The difference between the peaceful and violent one is the government's approach. All depend on the government. When you try to intimidate the protesters, violence happens

Not only is this statement not according to the Constitution, it also undermines the concept of freedom. If Nigerians have freedom to gather and protest but are to first report the expression of said freedom to the authorities for what i believe is for approval of some sort, then are Nigerians really free to protest? undecided
Let him be qouting his own constitution

Is Alex Otti more popular than Peter Obi? Are you sleep writing or something? And I should think that you should know that these statements were made individually not like they had a discourse. Even if you hate a man, it shouldn't neglect the use of common sense in your analysis.

Peter Obi stated that there were protests during his tenure. You didn't see that, right?

Allow tte man to breathe.

Philipponzaghi:
Peter Obi is just trying to ride on the coattails of Alex Otti's popularity.

This is the same man who couldn't unify his own supporters when it mattered most. Protests without clear direction only lead to chaos. If he really cared about the issues, he would have been more proactive during his tenure as governor instead of waiting for others to lead the charge. It's easy to talk tough when you're not in the hot seat.

1. That is why I just told you there is no such constitutional right to protest. There is a right to assemble as long as your assembly does not impede my freedom of movement and constitutes a public nuisance. As I've told you, this is a well-established human rights principle. See Article 27(2) of the African Charter for example.

2. Of course it is true. Your right to free speech is limited by a requirement that you do not defame others, constitute a public nuisance, make seditious proclamations and so on. Similarly, your right to assemble must not impede my right to a freedom of movement.
1. The right to assemble, right to thought and right to expression are found in sections 38, 38 & 40 of your Constitution. undecided

2. Defamation is not a limitation to the right of free speech. See Section 39 and maybe 45 of your Constitution. undecided

Atiku spoke about the protest, nobody compared his statement with any PDP governor, nobody did same to Kwankwaso's statement with the NNPP governor. But when its comes to Obi they'll start running from pillar to post on how to verify him.
Atiku no dey relevant for PDP he will be when election is coming by then he will still be able to buy delegates as usual

At his age and level in politics,

So that short man does not know that you DO NOT need the permit of the police before you can protest?

Goodvibes007:
Otti is wrong. You don't need approval from police to hold a protest.

Otti has a state to govern. He is afraid of destruction which is totally understandable, whereas Obi is just a fascist mob leader hoping to destroy the country because he lost just 1 election. Atiku has lost 6 times or even 7, but he takes his defeat like a man. Restategizes and tries again.

However, both Obi and Otti are two idiots also known as Dumb and Dumber.
You're the dumbest

Are you sure you understand what you read in Section 45? It very clearly provides the Constitutional bases for the limitations of Constitional rights--as I said--with such bases including:

a. Defence, public safety, public order, public morality or public health; [the bolded are the clear limitations to the right to peaceful assembly]
b. The defence of the rights and freedoms of others (defamation as a limitation to free speech clearly falls under this provision)

There are thousands of articles explaining the limitations to rights. I'd suggest you devote more time to reading some than arguing here.

Ireti Kingibe will not return as Senator in the FCT in 2027 if she doesn't retrace her steps and start working. Running to the media every time to blackmail Wike will not save her.

LP is having cracks and the Peter Obi earthquake will no longer be there again in 2027.

Rubbish. Peter obi is straight forward on protest and constitutional right Otti is playing diplomacy because he's under the government of the day. You think police will not play politics for frustrate effort from protesting. Tinibu and supporters are the enemies of Nigeria.

He obi has nothing good to offer you.
He should know that, having lost all legal grounds of his Failed election bid, even up to the Supreme Court that he degraded with unnecessary Press Conferences, his Social Media Agents will not help him.
For what he can't get in the elections,he is being used,as he has said,he wants IPOB leaders to be released but is pretending to be a relevant opposition.
Can he do this if Buhari was in power or is it Tinubu that imprisoned Kanu?
Some of the things,Obi have been saying,we don't expect him to say them.

These two are just playing to the gallery.

While Obi is busy trying to prove he's still relevant, Otti is simply trying to ride the wave of popularity. Both of them will end up achieving nothing significant.

Obi's protest will be another flop, just like his presidential ambition. When will he learn that shouting on the streets doesn't equate to real change?

If he spent half the energy he uses for protests on actual governance when he had the chance, maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess. Protesting won't change the fact that he lost the election.
How are Nigerians fairing under this administration? Is it until people die of hunger.? I no be obidient. I stand for food governance and peaceful protest to address is constitutional even without permits.

Don't give Tinubu another day
He will mess up things the more and tell you to go kiss your ass. Give him no time, protest until PMS is N100 and LPG is N200. People fight for your redemption even if you need to pay the ultimate price. This level of slavery is a curse even to God watching our blessedness.

Gov Alex Otti is wrong.
You don't need any sort of approval to engage in peace assembly or protest. It is a fundamental right
Otti is just playing to the gallery. As a politician and sitting governor, he needs to be deplomatic in his choice of words and expression.

Protest is a fundamental right of any individual if so exercised peacefully. You don't need anyone's approval.

How do you judge it, you dey oppress me with hardship and expects me not to cry out until you approved that I should cry. That's exactly what Otti is inferring here. He's just being careful so as not to hurt the government in the Centre.
