Wike Mobilises Youths Against Hunger Protest by asiwaju60(op): 8:28am On Jul 29, 2024
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is mobilising Abuja youths and other stakeholders against joining the planned August 1 to 10 nationwide protests over hunger and hardship.

Speaking during a ministerial engagement with FCT youths from Abuja South Federal Constituency, in Kwali Area Council of the FCT on Sunday, Wike said, ”Youths and other stakeholders in Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils will also be engaged on the same issue in the coming days.”

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that a similar interaction was held with stakeholders in Abuja Municipal Area Council, in Abuja on Saturday.

The minister explained that the interaction was to enlighten them on the ills of protest and why they should not be part of it.

He thanked the traditional rulers and the area council chairmen for mobilising FCT youths for the interaction to enlighten them against joining a protest they do not have a stake in.

“There is no need for the protest. The current administration is barely one year in office and not enough to assess its performance.

“You can’t judge leadership within one year. I have not been in office for up to a year, but I have done so much that should be appreciated and convince people that FCT is working,” he said.

I really do hope those "pantaker" guys are not given biscuit change, armed and instructed to disrupt the protests by "wunjuring" protesters.

Wike is just using these youths as pawns in his political game. They are only setting the stage for chaos while pretending to fight against hunger. A bunch of misguided individuals looking for trouble!

I blame the foolish youth that would be used by this man. He can never call you for a job in any of the parastatals or ministry .

But when it comes to this kind of job that's when he will remember you

I think Wike is overdoing things now, he's fast turning into an overzealous sycophant than before. Maybe he's having high hopes that BAT will choose him as his successor in the future undecided...

We yorubas and all yoruba Muslims will never protest against our illustrious son Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Omo Olodo idé!

Tinubu must complete his 8 year tenure
In all ramifications I must say Tinubu has done marvelously well in just one year
The economy has grown astronomically
Security is 100% every where is secured
Foreign investors are queuing on the line to invest in Nigeria
Minimum wage of civil servants increased over 100%
Businesses are doing very well
Money is circulating
Very much easier and cost effective to import and clear vehicles in Nigeria.
Above all corn is very very cheap in the market now as one of the promises made.

Please let us give Jagaban more time, his works are so big for our eyes to see.

Tinubu bu nke anyi!

On your mandate we shall stand

Wike is playing youths and he will be consumed. Abuja is not Rivers state where you can just dish out 1k to youths to do ur bidding. Some of these politicians think anyone can yield to their gimmick so far money is involved. Wike is bitting more than he can chew and he will go down soon.

When last did he remember these youth? When they start sharing formula, did he at anytime remember these youths? Now that he needs to save his ass he pretends to care and knows all the ills. Is he aware many of them were hungry while listening to him?

We are talking about Nigeria. Not FCT! Does FCT reflect Nigeria? Senseless druggie
Re: Wike Mobilises Youths Against Hunger Protest by Stevolacious(m): 9:05am On Jul 29, 2024
Hmmm!

The call or mobilization for a national protest due to the pain of hunger and starvation in the land is real. A country immensely blessed by the generous creator but facing inept management of her endowed wealth and bad governance, hence the escalation of poverty in astronomical speed.

While it is within the civic right of Nigerians to protest peacefully, let it not lead to anarchy that will plunge the already perturbed atmosphere into chaos.

- Let Nigeria and Nigerians THRIVE!
Re: Wike Mobilises Youths Against Hunger Protest by Kam2021: 9:05am On Jul 29, 2024
The youths that want to protest are even leaving the most important thing they should be protesting for.
One of the major reasons for high prices of food, is the attack on farm products by herdsmen.
Send a representative to the president, have a dialogue and extract commitments to wnd this crisis faced by farmers.
2.Talk about fuel price and extract a commitment to bring it down
3.Talk about IT,and grants to businesses.
But no they will rather protest, make noise everywhere at the end no reasonable response from the government.
Farmer groups, business, youth groups should be part of this dialogue and extract a time frame for implementation.

Bought over & silenced during election and now during protest too?

Poverty is a potent political tool.

You have to give it up to Wike sha, guyman never likes ideas. However I doubt his efforts will yield any positive result at this time.

My appeal to everyone is that, whatever you do, ask yourself: Would you Jesus Christ do the same if he were in your shoes?

If u watch carefully, u will notice MOST POLITICIANS are the same. If u also watch closely, u will also notice how DESPERATE they become when they need the people's help...

But Jesus Christ has NEVER CHANGED. The Almighty God has NEVER CHANGED. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the only one WHO'S WORDS is yea and amen!!!

Another thing that has not CHANGED is His LOVE for u. That's why He sent His Son Jesus Christ, to die for us all. POLITICIANS will not save u but Jesus Christ will if only u run to Him today by accepting His son as ur Lord and personal saviour.

Shalom!!!
