There is no rocket science here, Tell the people you are re-introducing fuel subsidy at 50% , let people buy fuel at N350/400 Nigerians will be patient to see what you have done with the other 50% the government takes. How do you drop a policy , then start to think how to make the policy work. Nigerians even tried to be patient for 1 year.. This madness will not happy anywhere. What is the government doing for the people if they take off all subsidies ? |

vowiski:Petrol is already subsidize. Petrol should be selling for #1200 per liter by now. The only way petrol price can fall now is if naira strengthen against the dollar. |

The subsidy removal is not the main issue, it was the blind devaluation of naira. I have posted this many times here. People are focused on the wrong thing. Currently, the government is even subsidising the fuel or petrol, hence you can buy at 850/900...landing cost is about 1500 due to the currency devaluation. Ikaeniyan0: |

Blazetrailer:I fully agree with you boss. The exchange rate mess is the reason Nigeria is in this mess. If naira can strengthen to about 900/$, price of goods and services will fall. Naira has lost a lot of value since may 29 2023 |

This is a wise move by Tinubu. The 50% subsidy will definitely ease the burden on many Nigerians struggling with the high cost of living. It’s refreshing to see a leader who listens to the people and takes action to prevent unrest. I just hope this initiative is sustained and not just a temporary fix. God bless Nigeria and our leaders for prioritizing the welfare of the citizens. |

Finally, some good news! This is the kind of leadership we need. Make we no allow any noise from the opposition distract us from progress. Tinubu dey try to balance the economy and protect the people. Instead of protests, make we channel our energy into supporting initiatives that go better the lives of Nigerians. Na so we go fit move forward together! |

This is just another political gimmick to silence the masses. Tinubu is playing games while the common man suffers. Protests are our only voice, and no amount of subsidy can mask the rot in the system. |

PMS should sell at N200 irrespective of the USD/Naira equivalent. More than that, it will drive millions into poverty since it is pivotal and drives every sector of the Nigerian economy. Tinubu’s pronouncing that fuel subsidy is gone is borne out of sheer ignorance, stupidity and senselessness. The Nigerian economic parameters have been in shambles since then. |
