When there is a real risk of harm to life if you go back to your country , you can apply for leave to remain on article 3 human right or an asylum.

In this case, the risk to harm is very possible and even stronger with the fact that the guy has absconded to Nigeria. COMMON SENSE.

Anybody that is a victim of human trafficking is automatically given asylum status. They were brought into the country under a false pretext, they would not be sent back. That's the law in the UK.
