Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed after his residence was targeted in Tehran, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed in a statement on July 31.

No, Israel can't kill Ayatollah. Ayatollah is the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief and Religious head of Iran. Israel's allies won't accept such extreme recklessness. It'll be the greatest political mistake because it'll destabilize Iran and could cause an uprising.
