A LETTER TO @jidesanwoolu OVER THE DESIGNATION OF PROTEST VENUES IN LAGOS

It has come to the attention of the Take It Back Movement in Lagos state that your Attorney General surreptitiously obtained a court order designating and restricting protesters for #EndbadGovernanceinNigeria to two locations in the Lagos Metropolis. At the same time, we frown at this abuse of judicial privilege to stifle freedom of association; the movement at an emergency meeting wishes to inform you that since this was your administration’s decision, you must bear responsibility for the movement of protesters from several designations in Lagos to and from Peace Park in Ketu and Gani Fawehinmi Justice Park in Ojota in Lagos.
Some of the designated convergence points for participating citizens include

1. Alausa Secretariat
2. ⁠Lekki Toll Gates
3. Ikorodu Bus Park
4. ⁠Okota Link Bridge
5. ⁠LASU Campus gates
6.Iyana Ipaja Underbridge
7.Agege Pen Cinema
You will soon be informed of other designated convergence points for protesters.

The buses to be provided must be clean, safe and air-conditioned.

The buses must arrive at this designated areas as early as 6 a.m. and return protesters to their convergence points at 6 p.m. every night between August 1st and 10th, 2024.

The protest days may drag beyond ten days, so the Lagos state government is advised to make contingency plans for the continuation of these actions.

Your failure to provide buses for the protesters means they (protesters) would begin march/walk to the court-designated parks in the city on a daily basis for the duration of the #EndBadGovernance direct actions.

Finally, be informed that there will be rallies and processions throughout the #EndbadGovernance actions, so your bus operators are advised to find and park at a safe distance from the areas designated by protesters for these activities.

I don't believe in Nigeria and I will never do. but these kind of protests don't bring changes.

1. If it doesn't get violent, the government never takes it seriously.
2. If it becomes violent, urchins use the opportunity to loot people's businesses.

Honestly, this protest is just dicey, but something tells me it's going to be a huge flop because we don't set dates for protests in Nigeria. One event triggers people and they take to the streets to start protesting.

Omo Ibo. In Lagos state has different agenda compare to the Sowere protest ....and Even Sowere will be surprised at the end of the day because....the plans he has made is different. From what some of the Simeon Ekpa boys has made concerning Lagos state .....and the Lagos government knows pretty well Sowere doesnt post any harm to Lagos state but the people from the east who hate an average Yorub a person with passion ...

Help me ask them , Since Simeone Ekpa has relax the sit at home for this protest ...why can't some of the Ibo people organized a well structure protest in the IbO land....because the land has been messed up with hatred , wicked , sabotage.....and other wicked vices you could think of...and the only place in Nigeria that is thrive is their next taget.....

SE did not partake in 2012 protest, SE also stayed away because Jonathan literally handed over the country to the SE leaders then. They felt it was their government. Yorubas protested in Lagos.

In 2020, North stayed away from Endsars protest because they thought it was a scheme to take power from Buhari.

In 2024, Yorubas said they are not against peaceful protest but let everybody protest in their state/region so that we can properly manage the protesters and protect infrastructures

This is quite true especially the protest getting violent part.

My wish is this : Any tout or thug that appears to disrupt the protest should be beaten to a pulp, one or two bones broken, then handed over to the authorities. People should be ready to protect the protest from hijackers so that fear will be instilled in the hearts of other thugs.

Sadly, Nigerian protests have the possibility to be hijacked by APC touts.

The president must adopt Babangida's approach to governance. Bring people like Sowore and other oppositions who know how to criticize Govt on board and give them room to prove their worth .. Let them know that theory is different from practical Governance .. This is a good way to go.
