They don't like Wike because he supported Tinubu against Peter Obi. Based on that they've come to hate him and will never see anything good about him. You see them making comments like "why is anyone praising him for doing what he is paid to do?" But the same people will gladly praise Alex Oti who is doing very low quality road projects in Abia similar to what Rochas did in Imo to hugh heavens. It is quite unfortunate that our Igbo brothers are doing politics as if its a football club fan base. They will rather have an idiot who will do zero project for them in 8 years as long as he remains in the party they like and does not support APC or anything related to APC. It beats my imagination how they are all blindly supporting Fubara even though he is not doing anything in RIvers state just because he is fighting Wike. What Wike has achieved in less than one year is more than what all the past FCT ministers achieved in the past 16 years. If the other ministers performed like Wike did, no doubt FCT will have been among the best cities in the world right now. Imagine if Wike decides to save the money he is using for this projects in the bank and collect interest on it to his private pocket like one Agulu man did with Anambra state funds instead of using it to develop infrastructures like Wike is doing. LordIsaac:Do you guage performances only on the yardstick of physical infrastructure? When Wike was governor he never gave priority to agriculture nor did he address the issue of health care. All the zonal secondary health care facility he started as governor not one did he complete and staff with doctors and nurses and other ancillary personnel. In terms of education, virtually all the secondary schools in Rivers state are in a state of dilapidation. In short, Rivers state became number 1 in the South South region in NBS multidimensional poverty survey Or should I mention the fact that Wike refused promoting Rivers state workers through out his 8 years in the saddle nor pay gratuity to retirees. In terms of building bridges and road that comes with the attendant kickback from the contractor, Wike is good at it. What I want to be seeing is Wike revamping the public schools infrastructure and also building world class health centers in FCT. Meanwhile, in advance clime, priority has shifted to human development and not physical development. That is why you see leaders in countries like US, UK and other advance clime always making references to the number of jobs they have created. And how their policies have enhance the quality of life of their citizens. |

And where are those comparing Wike with El Rufai? Let El Rufai point at his projects in abaji, kwali and kuje during his time as FCT minister. Mind you , this is just about a year of Wike's tenure. |

mrksquare:Good points but can you make example of your state governor's human capacity development that was done this last one year and give names of those you know personally that benefited from it. Atleast he is doing something physical which to us is still not enough based on the amounts going to these projects and what we see physically. Yet you now want people to be happy about governors deceiving people with non-existent human development and big grammar lies and propaganda? I will say kudos to Wike, because everyone and anyone can enjoy the benefits of these physical projects. Atleast he is doing something now. Whatever he did during his Rivers governance is in the past. Next Governor should do those things he failed to do. Abeg move on. My own state Governor is doing nothing about nothing, so if we have somebody like Wike we will atleast not waste 8 years on cluelessness and autorun governance. |

Awesome01:I am from Rivers state. And it is high time we started raising the bar of leadership. In our quest at showering praises for politician we should be circumspect so we don't end up giving vent to mediocrity. Like I said, what I want to see in FCT, are modern public school and health centers. I guess that was the issue the Ireti Kingibe raised that drew the ire of Wike. Wike is so given to showmanship and optics as a way of hoodwinking the gullible that he is performing. And he so much delight in road construction where kick-back is guaranteed to triggle in from the contractor. |

Begs the question as to what previous administration did with the FCT budget ![]() No big deal - he is doing "some" of what he was appointed to do. A good choice by him. He can as well go the same way others before him did. I also read some comments earlier and it is interesting because the Nairalander said " the place is outside and not Abuja proper" but really?, how do you develop if you don't open up places ? A good example is why we still have empty forests between Lagos, Ibadan, Ogun State till you reach Ekiti, Edo, Enugu? Untapped / virgin land everywhere . Of what use are these places (forests/bushes) if not developed and make life worth living for your citizens.? State governments are not encouraging Agricultural farming - and not ready to even open these places up? Lagos to Oyo State is less than 90 miles... why is it still the same after so many years? Bushes everywhere and very scary too . There should be more than enough food to go round in Nigeria o.Nigerians and the myopic way of reasoning! Why not travel, or read books, broaden your knowledge and educate yourself about how the foreign countries we all want to run to developed These countries were all rural before becoming urban centers. Go on youtube and you will see videos of New York back in 1900's. Much better than most places in Lagos of today. Nigeria still has a very long long way to go o! It does not have to be that way since the technology and money is available. Infact, it should be fairly easy for a country like Nigeria to develop in every way we want to imagine (if we have willing leaders). The money is available, the population is available, the know how is also available (Nigerians with brains outside Nigeria) and in Nigeria too. Afterall, a good number of Nigerians left due to bad Governance resulting in brain drain. A lot of them will not "japa" if the environment in Nigeria was encouraging in the first place. |

mrksquare:I am from Ogun state and only been to Rivers once and Abuja twice. And while in Abuja, I have stayed a while in Abaji while doing business between there and Nassarawa (Toto), so I know this road and its importance to the development of that area. So to you it may not matter, but to the people of that area plying that road they will be very grateful. |
