Nigeria’s sovereign-risk premium surged to an eight-month high, and its dollar bonds were some of the worst-performing emerging-market assets on Friday, amid concerns that cost-of-living protests across the country could derail the government’s economic reform plan. At least 13 people have died in this week’s unrest, which comes soon after violent protests forced another African nation, Kenya, to scrap crucial measures introduced to raise budget revenue. Some investors may fear a similar outcome in Nigeria, where reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu have inflicted pain on the population. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-08-02/nigeria-s-deadly-cost-of-living-protests-spook-bond-investors |

This will send price of gari and petrol up a tad. And by the time the protest is over, that tad will become significantly obvious to the busy protesters. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/investing/2024/08/02/nigerian-eurobonds-drop-as-deadly-protests-spark-investor-flight/

Ask tinubu that removed fuel subsidy and float the naira that question. Also ask him what happened to the 50 million youths he promised to recruit into Nigerian army. Still ask him, how manage he graduated from school, 4 years before it was established?? If u have time, u can ask him what was his issues with the FBI and how manage he's not up to 80 years while his daughter is almost 70 ![]() helinues: |

So it's only Obidients in the North, SS and SW that obey Obi, those in Southeast don't! Candidly, I can't understand a region where someone scored almost 99% in all the states, but the person will instruct them to come out and protest and they will disobey. You can deceive some people some times but you can't deceive everyone all the time. |

licnsai:Tinubu saved Nigeria from becoming Venezuela or Zimbabwe. History will be kind to him. I know, when you are hungry all the economic reforms and indices would look like the price of garri to you. |

Omooba77:and arrogantly refused to reverse it. Is anything wrong to say I'm the president but I got the policies wrong, I apologise and then reverse it. Will that made him less of a man or president? |

The economy has been melting down since before the protest 🪧🪧🪧 No one in his right senses would invest in a country with unstable currency 💵💵💵 So just invest your money else where !!! Total ditched Nigeria to go invest in Angola
