Before the August 1 nationwide protest, I shared a list of workable demands that Nigerians should agitate for during the protest. The first demand I pointed was for Nigerians to push for the resignation of Tinubu and the dissolution of the government to pave the way for the establishment of an interim smaller government. This demand was borne out of the fact that Tinubu lacks the capacity to unite and lead this country, his government will not listen to Nigerians, the government is insensitive, incompetent, it is incapable of implementing political and economic reforms that protesters are agitating for. You can see that even after the carnage that was unleashed yesterday were several peaceful protesters were killed by trigger happy policemen, Tinubu has refused to address Nigerians or show genuine concern to the plight of Nigerians. If Nigerians truly want this country to progress, the number one demand for the nationwide protest should be to push for an end to this bad government…. Nigerians have a golden opportunity to move this country forward through this protest by uniting and capitalize on the momentum of this protest and push for a lasting solution to the nation’s problems…. It was unfortunate that many Igbo people yesterday decided to play tribal politics by not joining other well meaning Nigerians to protest…. obviously this decision was taken due to a widespread propaganda against them, it is true that collectively Igbos have been targeted continually by hateful propaganda perpetrated by malicious government agents and Nigerians, this was evident especially during the last election but two wrongs don’t make a right, the economic crisis facing Nigerians knows no tribe or religion as it is been felt by everyone, the Igbos even though many of them no longer want to be part of Nigeria should know that they can’t actualize their dream of a Nigerian Igbo president, Biafra or a referendum without the support of other tribes in Nigeria. This is not the time to push blames, it is a time to build bridges and show solidarity with other Nigerians. It will be detrimental for Igbos if they fail to sympathize with other Nigerians by continuing to play the holier than thou politics while the country burns over bad governance…. Above all, I hope that Nigerians whether north or south can look beyond their corrupt tendencies of collecting bribe and staging pro-government sponsored violent protests against peaceful protesters, I hope Nigerians can overcome their selfish tribalistic ways of sabotaging each other and come together to free the country from this cruel government and their political oppressors…. |

Tinubu has faced many challenges, but he’s not one to back down easily. Resignation is not the solution; we need unity and constructive dialogue to move forward. |

Tinubu cannot afford to change the status quo that brought him to power… his government is incapable of implementing the reforms that protesting Nigerians are asking for…. There is need for an interim government to address pressing political an economic structural issues affecting Nigerians before it is too late…. sIfioksq: |

The situation has become unbearable that is why Nigerians are protesting…. You can not beat a child continually and expect the child not to cry…. You said that we should give the government time and I ask time to do what? Since May last year, what policies have the government made that have been good for Nigerians…? this government failed from day 1 by removing subsidies and floating the Naira without any preparation or assessments, they have shown no remorse by increasing taxes, borrowing and spending recklessly, buying SUVs while Nigerians bear the brunt of a hopeless economy, Nigerians can not continue to fold their arms and allow the bad government to continue to kill them…. If many Nigerians have chosen protest as a means of survival then no one can stop them from protesting as it is their fundamental right to do so…. Let Tinubu and those in government find a lasting solution to the problems affecting Nigerians or resign if they don’t know what to do….. Nigerians are already dying over harsh economic conditions, many more will perish before 2027 if nothing is done to avert the total break down of order and collapse of Nigeria’s economy….. There is no nationwide protest. There's virtually zero protest in many Southern states. I heard only a couple of States in the North Central had any protest yesterday, and they were peaceful. So far, protests have been confined to Abuja, the North West and North East. That's not nationwide. |

Na wa o! Who dey organize this protest? Tinubu just dey settle down, we need to give am chance to show wetin e fit do. Resignation no be the answer; we need to support our president make e succeed. All this noise no go help Nigeria, instead we need unity to face our wahala together. |

Tinubu can not succeed because of the corrupt and nepotistic structures of his government…. Those who believe that he has any plan on how to salvage Nigeria’s economy are only wasting their time…. The government is only good at taxing Nigerians, borrowing to loot and pushing propaganda to divide the masses…. Look at how much that he has borrowed since last year running into trillions of Naira and yet things are getting worse as cost of living continues to rise…. The truth is that Nigeria’s political structure is flawed, it doesn’t foster unity, Nigeria’s institutions have been weakened and compromised by those who seek to undermine the nation’s democracy…. We can not make any meaningful progress as a foundational reset is necessary to decentralize constitutional powers, this can only be achieved through an interim government….. Tinubu can not and will not change the status quo that brought him to power…. Salewa97: |

If nothing is done to checkmate bad government excesses, a time will come when Nigerians will look back and wished that they took the opportunities presented today to unite and salvage their country….. |

The noise from the streets is just that—noise. Those calling for resignation are simply missing the bigger picture. Tinubu is focused on the nation's progress, and that’s what truly matters. Let the protests come; they won’t change the vision for Nigeria’s future. |

Bebigiby1:Some of you born yesterday don't know what is called power. First, find the meaning of GCFR , the power he has supercedes the nonsense protest you are doing, he was brought in by ballot and can only be removed by ballot says the constitution. Just because most of you are educated illiterate won't make us just sit down and look at you wallow in your ignorance. Even, historically how many African presidents have resigned talk less of spending only one year on sit. Most of our youth are sick upstairs, evident from what comes out of their brains. |

It is you that is ignorant because going by the constitution, the president can be impeached, his constitutional powers is not above the people’s rights to call for his resignation or impeachment…. lamentor78: |

Bebigiby1:Bro if you don't have anything meaningful to say just off your data and sleep or better still go and watch Cocomelon with your phone. Don't drag Igbos to your nonsense writeup you guys want Tinubu enjoy him, we Igbos have a lot to deal with in our region like that Foolish APC sponsored Simon Ekpa and his gangs. Nigeria was never designed for Igbos to work with you people. In fact I noticed that anytime Igbos stay on their own you people would still find a way to drag them into your madness well we are not as dumb as you guys take us and the funny thing is Even if someone like MC Oluomo and Okonjo Iweala contest for presidency you guys would vote MC Oluomo. So we don't need to build any bridge we the rest of Nigerians what we need is to restructure this country so that everyone can develop his or her own region. |
