vengertime:But why are we like this as Nigerians? This is how developed Nations check and control these multinational to safeguard their citizens. So what's wrong with what this agency has done? |
| Re: FCCPC Warns Coca-cola Over ‘misleading’ Products Labelling, ‘unfair’ Marketing T by LandMann: 3:30pm On Aug 02, 2024 |
AntiChristian:As of November 2023, Dangote controls 62% market share of Nigeria's cement market. He got there through the series of waivers he got from series of Nigerian governments and court cases he uses to frustrate any competitor. For comparison, BUA is around 20% and Lafarge is around 18%. With this sort of monopolistic control Dangote can wake up and fix the price of cement and nothing Nigerians or Nigerian government will do about it. He did it in February this year when he jacked the price of cement up over 200% just after the minister of works announced that roads will now be constructed using concrete. Dangote backed up his action with excuses of exchange rate fluctuations despite getting most of the raw materials from Nigeria in Naira and despite existing waivers he enjoys to import cement components without tariffs and taxes. He's attempting to do it again with pms and diesel. Asking the government to stop all importation so everyone buys from him... Then when he jacks up the price nobody will be able to cough. |

If you read the fineprint we'll, it is implying that: Coca-Cola has moved from using normal sugar ( 7 spoonfuls in one bottle) to now artificial sugars: saccharin ( maybe). So, it was non-calory before, now it is super non-calory. No single benefits to the body. Infact, saccharine will cause harm to your body. |

Something is not right.. I think this should be directed to pepsi and not coca-cola.. All 'less sugar brands of coca-cola comes with a black cap including the bottle filling.. For pepsi the regular 50cl bottle filling assumed to be of original taste turned out to be a transparent 'pepsi lite for over a year now and nobody is talking..the 50cl plastic filling comes in many variants without clear distinctive features..if you are a guilible/hungry consumer the retailer will sell all brands to you at the cost of original taste and you end up with a lower value than your purchase.. |

LandMann:You don't know what you're typing. FCCPC is doing the right thing. If NAFDAC is as proactive as FCCPC, most F&B companies would've closed shop long ago or adapt to professional best practices that is healthy to humans. I ran from consuming milo due to excess sugar and decided to use bournvita as alternative. Now, the sugar content in bournvita is worse than milo. I tasted the same bournvita in Ghana, still made by Nestlé and the taste was natural as ever, with less sugar. These foreign companies come to Nigeria and mess with our health because nobody regulates them. Why are we so bad in this country? If I need less sugar, give me what I want and don't force me to take that nonsense you packed for human consumption. It's an intentional act knowing the dangerous effects sugar has on adults. |

Kemadealadire:Not many soft drinks..7up bottling company has been seriously compromised..pepsi, mirinda, 7up, teem all have become wash down the years with their odd taste...coca-cola has exceedingly tried more in maintaining quality via coke, fanta and sprite since the economy plunged in 2016.. I think there is a conspiracy against coca-cola.. |

That's what we call "Marketing Gimmick" it's not applicable to coca cola alone, so many skin products are involved. You see some products claiming to have Aloe vera , coconut oil and so on, but all are artificial scent. |
