I will advice you to buy planks and you saw them to 2" or 2.5" and let you carpenter nail it for you, it will be cheaper that way.

Normally I’ll actually do it myself and likely much better than an average Nigerian carpenter but I’m currently not able to.

I have table saw, miter saw, pneumatic nailer, etc in my home garage.

I like the fact that you uses marine boards for decking, won't it likely put pressure on the pocket of client compare to plank?

Based on my years of experience in this field I can say that.
1.If your project is massive use marine board ( the reusable value is there.
2. If you want very neat job used marine board .
3.marine board will safe you some money on decking area where you don’t need FULL POP ceiling it’s will only required simple screeding . . ( if it’s regular plank you will spend on cement, sand, Labour cost

And many more advantages BUT if all stated is not your reasoning it’s better you go for plank.

Obi woods is not guaranteed, it can still bring out dust over time. Get other durable woods like AYIN, ITARA, ABORA,AKUN.

Carpenters go for obi because of soft work. Because its easier to nail.

Some client believed that Building professionals and there trade men do make a lot from them on materials actually some are like that while some are mot like that,
But me oo I do say it always if you don’t believed my quotation and quality of materials I will get for you ITs BETTER YOU PROVIDES ALL that needs for me then I will be able to give you my standard changes if it’s kobo I make there it’s VERY OK BY ME.
But some newbie in the field doesn’t know this they believed all things should be channeled to their pocket which will later bring “gbese”
So get them all for me it’s better Than stressing my self to get best materials for you with time wasted and energy yet you will not appreciate it. O wrong naa.

Infact I love it when you buy your materials nobody will question me on.
1. Arrival of materials, quality, quantity.
2. Inflation of prices in the mkt as times goes on.
3.I will have much time to focus on another things.
4.your family member will not be on my neck that I have collected millions from you
5. There will be no much enemies that I didn’t buy this buy that from any family member/ neighbors.
The list is endless.

Some will not like this oo but shee I care nii … I do what is best for me and my client .. don’t care about me care about yourself I’m not in competitive game with anyone.

I will have full focus only on the work given to deliver top notch result

kola nut woods is not too good for roofing, a roof that you want to last 100 years, must be anti termites wood, you can use, Koko Igbo, Ope,Iroko, Okilolo, Mango tree, Tick wood, Mahogany, Masonia.

This are good woods.

I have discussed several times the advantage of ready mixed putty particularly for outside screeding to the cement screeding on different occasions and mentioned possibility of cracking and peeling off after drying off after some time even after painted.
Here is pictorial example as received from a client.
Suggested solution was peeling off of the loose ones and application of stabilizing solution on the whole wall to properly bind the unpeeled parts to the wall and stabilizing the peeled part against dusty surface.
Ready mixed screeding putty (basecoat) would then be used to screed the whole wall.
Basecoats to be used all over and stabilizing solution successfully delivered to awka. Protest and fuel scarcity wasn't an obstacle to deliver once payment was received.
