I guess this is the right time to 'japa' from all of this and remain alive. It is however necessary to do so safely and legally instead of going through the more dangerous deserts and oceans. You have been eating sardine. Do not turn yourself into one.

Farooq likes writing big grammar. Who is he talking to? Ordinary Nigerians or university professors? He will likely be a bad leader if given the opportunity to rule like those he constantly criticises because he has refused to subsidise his grammar to appeal to the common man on the street.
I think it is you who is too lazy to use a dictionary. Except for a few words, the main message is easily gleaned by any reader. An ‘ordinary Nigerian' will still struggle with basic English.

Before now I placed the Yoruba people at same level intellectually as the Igbo man. However, since the coming of Buhari and Tinubu I have been made to understand that they are very worse than an illiterate in the north who doesn't know how to spell Jack.
And if I may ask you, what were the parameters used before u place Yoruba people at same level intellectually as the igbo man, I just hope u won't activate silent mode.
And during the coming of buhari and tinubu, who or what made u to understand that your parameters were wrong

Farooq Kperogi is an Atiku person who has always hated Tinubu. Even during the elections, he consistently wrote all kinds of damaging things about Tinubu and sometime telling outright lies on Tinubu.

Farooq Kperogi thinks by using "big big grammar" he would sway the audience and he was foolishly mistaken as big grammar does not necessarily pass the message across. Even in the United states where he resides, simple English is used for everyday conversations.

Too many idiots blaming an ethnic group for bad and stupid elements. Those calling out an ethnic group should all be banned from NL. That behaviour should be treated as unwelcome whether the person is APC, LP, PDP or none. The behaviour should be eradicated regardless of their ethnicity. Say no to inciting ethnic hatred.

That said I cannot argue much with Farooq's article. This government has seriously miscalculated and is out of tune with the common man. Who gives a fizzuck about any of our traditional rulers?

Yeah, you're right. Communicating is different from writing or speaking grammar. Wole Soyinka and many other journalist are guilty of this as well.

Re: Five Lessons From The Ongoing Hunger Protests - Farooq Kperogi by Amaggedon:
Throwback:
If Tinubu can successfully get away with the subsidy removal, all past Presidents of Nigeria and top presidential candidates who campaigned to also remove subsidy, would accord him their respect for succeeding where they had failed.

The question is would he get away with it?

This is a straight battle between the economy of Nigeria and the people of Nigeria.
What is the economy of Nigeria without the Nigerian people? How do you people think ? There is no good economy where the people are hungry. The problem with africa is that we can not make decisions for our selves. We alway want to accept what ever policy the west feels is good for us as though they are wearing our shoes. We must solve our own problem according to the reality of our people. The people telling them to remove this and remove that are busy give unemployement benefits for their unemployed citizens. Where is all the employement promises where is the agriculturer programme promises?

Honestly this is what I've been saying..
We should divert our rage to most of all these useless Governors because majority them can't even manage a simple market shop not to talk about Governing a whole state...
You see them sending their kids to foreign school leaving the local ones to rot..
You'll see an Idiot Governor wearing a 750k dollars watch. You'll observed that most road contract are indirectly awarded to their own cronies and families that have Zero knowledge of constructing roads. All they care about is looting, looting and more looting from the state coffers..

But very soon, the youths attention will be directed to them..
This was what alot of Igbos where wishing NK to do.. But the idiot was busy insulting the federal Government and everybody..

what the governor does and what the president work is are different, the president is incharge of the monetary and fiscal policies and the nation's currency which implementation is what has landed us where we are ,these are not in the purview of the governor, all those selling that narratives just wants to divert attention
The governor is to provide infrastructure for the development and well-being of the state, this current fight is not about infrastructure that is why people are not focusing on the governors
That can be done on individual state bases
But the common one that applies to everyone is the monetary and fiscal policies of a thoughtless president

NGsultan:
https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2024/08/five-lessons-from-ongoing-hunger.html?m=1
'Everywhere in the world—from South America to the Pacific and from Asia to Africa—from the 1980s (when the IMF first forced Structural Adjustment Programs on developing countries) until now, there is not a single example of a country that has escaped irreversible devastation and decline as a result of subsidy removal, currency devaluation, destruction of social safety nets for the poor, abandonment of the welfare of citizens—all IMF policies that countries are forced to implement as conditions to secure World Bank loans.

The only countries that have developed outside the West are precisely the countries that have repulsed the IMF, that have strategically deployed subsidies to buoy their economies and uplift their people, and that have guarded their national currencies. Many young Nigerians now realize that the idea that the pains they are suffering are mere temporary birth pangs that will deliver a bouncing baby is a damned, soulless, conscienceless, self-centered lie. They’ve had enough.'

This above quote from Farooq is false and misleading. Below is the outcome of a little research on the subject;

There are several examples of countries that have successfully implemented IMF and World Bank advice to float and devalue their currencies, which subsequently led to positive economic outcomes.

Mexico:
During the mid-1990s, Mexico faced a severe financial crisis. To address this, the country devalued the peso and shifted to a more flexible exchange rate regime under IMF guidance. These measures, combined with other economic reforms, helped stabilize Mexico's economy, reduce the current account deficit, and restore investor confidence. Over time, Mexico experienced economic recovery and growth, illustrating the benefits of such reforms (IMF).

Russia:
Russia adopted a floating exchange rate regime in 2014 in response to falling oil prices and international sanctions. This transition, supported by IMF recommendations, allowed the Russian economy to absorb external shocks better and maintain economic stability. Inflation rates decreased over time, and the economy adjusted to new conditions, highlighting the benefits of adopting a floating currency system (IMF).

CFA Franc Zone:
In 1994, several countries in the CFA franc zone devalued their currency with IMF support. This devaluation helped improve export competitiveness and led to economic growth in countries like Benin, Burkina Faso, and Mali. The initial fears of high inflation were mitigated, and the countries saw positive growth in GDP per capita, driven by the agricultural sector and improved global economic conditions (SpringerLink).

These examples demonstrate that while floating and devaluing a currency can present short-term economic challenges, such as inflation and reduced purchasing power, the long-term benefits often include greater economic stability, improved fiscal health, and enhanced competitiveness on the global stage. Successful implementation typically requires a comprehensive approach, including fiscal discipline and structural reforms, to ensure sustainable growth.
