No govt in the world gives everything to all citizens for free.Even in advanced countries,they pay for almost everything.Most payments have been deducted at source from salaries in form of TAXES.Only the vulnerable and handicapped enjoy free things.Nigeria's main problems are:No reliable data base,inadequate facilities;potable water,energy,health care e.t.c.Security issues that is not allowing adequate farming to produce sufficient food.Removing fuel subsidy should have been enough for this government to plan and be gradually providing all these necessary things.Even if they have to increase charges for other services it shouldn't be all at the same time.Palliatives been provided are not getting to most citizens that need them.Govt should do better.

How does he intend to implement 25% reduction in price of food stuffs? The last I checked, food stuffs sellers are traders, they buy and sell with a profit. Does he want them to sell at a loss or will Lagos State Government buy from them and sell with 25% discount?

Get a grip of your emotions. That word "daft" is a rude language to use on Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was a senior banker and rose to the position of a Treasurer in the banking sector. A Treasurer is a high position in the banking sector, so, you can't call Sanwo-Olu "daft" regardless of your anger. He also was the head of the highly effective Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) before he even became a Governor of Lagos State.

I'm aware that Lagos is gearing up to launch 500 CNG and electric buses for mass transportation in a few weeks so that would further drop the cost of transportation and food haulage from farms to the markets since CNG is sold at the new NNPC CNG refill stations launched in Lagos State since May 30, 2024 at N200 per standard cubic feet. Those vehicle owners who have already converted to CNG are already enjoying cheaper CNG fuel which is way cheaper than PMS.

Dear Gov. Babajide Danjuma Sanwo-Olu, I think you need to call intellectual people around you and reason together on the possible ways to relief us. The 25% discount on food items is not enough, also the BRT buses are not everywhere in the state. It is only IKORODU people that are enjoying the BRT most, they pay less on a very long journey unlike other route.

Your excellency, if possible, look into energy and see if you can help us to shoulder some % of the bill. My opinion though.

Instead of looking into things that will easily benefit all, they will be making gestures into areas that will touch few people. . like you said, reduce utility bills, remove some import duties, reduce PMS price, reduce dollar rate by putting a peg etc.

Even Lagos state government found it difficult to sustain the initiative . That's why we are asking them to revitalise our economy, make food and other basic needs affordable and create a conducive environment for job creation and employment. Giving palliatives to the citizens is just a waste of efforts and resources, can't solve the problem in the long run
