Frustrated Nigerians first took to the streets on Thursday, August 1, to demand better governance and an end to pressing issues such as food inflation, general inflation, and high living costs.

The unusual display of Russian flags highlights the protesters' frustration with the home government's handling of the economic crisis, which has intensified hunger and hardship.

The protestors' demands for Putin's intervention reflect the growing discontent among Nigerians who feel their grievances are not being addressed by their own government led by President Bola Tinubu.

It's quite disheartening to see protesters in Kano waving a foreign flag as if Nigeria lacks the strength to solve its own problems. Are we really so desperate that we need to call on Putin for help? This reeks of misplaced priorities and a lack of faith in our own leadership.

How are you sure this happened in Nigeria? The second picture is fake, didn't happen in Nigeria probably in Niger Republic. They don't speak French in Kano, 'Vive Poutine'

Why are we seeking help from Putin of all people?

Instead of waving foreign flags, maybe these youths should focus on holding their own leaders accountable.

It's like begging for help from a wolf while ignoring the snake in our backyard. Nigeria's issues should be solved by Nigerians, not by looking to Russia for solutions.

Putin wants to disrupt Gas supplies from Nigeria to Europe that are replacing Russian supplies
That was why he supported the Niger Coup to disrupt the Gas pipeline to Europe

Every time it is someone teleguiding them. Russia forces are in Niger after Niger chased the West. Northern Nigeria is close to Niger and they know how fast Niger economy is growing now.

IMF and World Bank policies have been blamed for the hardship so its no brainer for Northerners to prefer Russia than the West
