Millions of naira lost cumulatively because I was trying to do useless customer relations. Nigerians are chronic debtors and majority never pay up their debts.

lets assumed you knew something about car. Lets assumed she breached the contract, since they took custody of the car, the best to do. Get independent valuer ofcuz she will be notify, to do the current valuation of the car and refund her her money. It's lawless to hold on to her money, hold to the car and you don't expect her to react. If you can take custody of the car beccause of 2m, you don't expect her to let you be for over 30m value. If you supported the act of the company, then you usually take what does not belong to you.

It was a temporary seizure for her to pay up the balance and have the car released to her.

She is lucky that she is not in the USA, the car will be repossessed and sold at auction and she will not have one single naira to given to her.

Same thing with houses, it does not matter how long you have been paying. As long as you have not finished paying, the house is not yours yet and if you miss payment and unable to pay... the house will be foreclosed and all the monies you have been paying is gone.

That is the way it works. If the car did not require servicing, she would not have gone back to the dealer.

So 7 months after the last installment, the company should wait forever for her to complete the payment. That 2 million balance might be far more than the gain on the car

Car was sold for 86m. Direct manufacturer wasn't ready to do installment payment with her even as a celebrity. She approached the car dealer to help her out. He bought the car off on her behalf and scheduled installment payment with her. She paid 36m or so with the promise to balance up within 3 months. 3 months turned into 7 months and more with her scattering the money in bits of 1m, 2m payments after several entreaties... That transaction is already messed up with the current exchange rate.

They should ban her from their premises.


And also not do business with her.

The way most of you are talking ehn, I'm wondering if it's school that you people did not go to or it's lack of common sense. Business that should have rounded up in 3 months, dragged on for over a year and you are blaming them for holding on to the car. If all their clients behave in same manner, where will they see money to run the business? Won't they be out of business immediately?

Contract was for 3 months, this is the 10th month of spreading and still owing N2m. Car was supposed to be seized after 3 months. If you take a loan for 3 months, your interest will be different from that of one year. If you want extend agreement, you will go back to renew agreement with new payment.
3 months to 10 months, then you pretend like nothing happened and come back to service the car there. Anything wrong with them asking for their balance after 7 months of agreement?
Hear some fools asking the Company to refund her money and collect back a Car she has driven for 10 months, just imagine!
