Olachase:The country population is about 170 million people. The voice of the people is the voice of God. Where there is unity and oneness in a group of people, they can pull down a mountain but tribalism and religion has blocked the brains of many of our people here. |

NaijaCrusader:That's what you were told. But you forget to notice that, all the States, Local governments, institutions, major infrastructures and everything good in Nigeria were created by the military. Your best civilian government cannot create a Local government or move the country forward because of tribalism, religious bigotry and nepotism. They told you is the best and you believe without asking questions. |

From Wikipedia: The vast majority (about 99%) of Bangladeshis are of the Bengali ethno-linguistic group. This group also spans the neighboring Indian province of West Bengal. Minority ethnic groups include Meitei, Tripuri, Marma, Tanchangya, Barua, Khasi, Santhals, Chakma, Rakhine, Garo, Biharis, Oraons, and Mundas. More than 90% are Muslims. You cannot defeat a homogenous force. Nothing similar will happen in Nigeria. |

MadamVanessa:I tell them here that Nigerians never ready. All those pro govt people that come here and talk rubbish. If the people hunger persist for long, they should be ready. People who are down aren't scared of falling, they rather burn down everything make everyone go down. The pro govt people better tell their masters. Fix Nigeria o, one day na one day. This lady never saw it coming. Some of the most brutal forces in north Africa were chased away by their citizens. If the citizens determine, no amount of bullet will chase them away. How many U want to kill? U will run or everything burn down |

0m0luabi:Wait till 2027. Tinubu has the mandate of the people! Democracy has come to stay, and shall not be trampled upon by extremist. No going back on fuel subsidy or multiple exchange rates. He should allow imported foodstuffs of all kind up till February. Minister of Agriculture should be on ground, meeting all farmers, small, medium and large, asking what they need, and what can be done to help. All ministers should be on ground, no more sitting in offices. Accelerate the mass metering process, so electricity gets even better. Mr Adelabu should tell us the journey to 6,000 MW he promised by December, and how he is going to achieve it. CNG should be done alongside with electric cars/buses/trucks. If you have electric cars and places around countries to charge them, you good to go. CNG takes time! Regarding the student loan, there should be a documentary by Tetfund, outlining the process for us to see. We should see the students who are current beneficiaries, how easy the process is, and see active participants, so that more students will take advantage. Payment should be made upon job found, and not 2 years after NYSC. |

blackbriar:@blackbriar, Indeed, it's as good as saying the Army have taken over the governance of Bangladesh. These are the unintended consequences of these kinds of protests by the younger generation [Gen Zs especially] who never experienced brutal and corrupt military rule. You NEVER know where it would end. Bangladesh has been under very brutal military dictatorships in the past that did NOT help that country. In a democracy, you can still protest and call out the politicians on live phone-in programs, but in full-blown military dictatorships, you CANNOT do that. There were many Ghanaians, a few Jamaicans, a few Americans, a few British, Indian, and Bangladeshi expats during the oil boom era right into the early 1980s in Nigeria who were academics in Nigerian Universities and other institutions and I attended school with some of their children back then. My Bangladeshi buddies and their family later moved to Canada from Nigeria during the Ibrahim Babangida years of military rule when the economy started to tank from 1985 and it never recovered. So, military rule can set the freedom of speech and economies of countries back in time. |

Can’t happen here. Divide and rule experts will make sure of that. Keep the hungry people busy fighting each other (whether on grounds of religion or tribe) and they will be ok! |

Religious doctrines and dogmas is for fools! Did you remember that Islamic thread where that guy was saying protesting is haram in Islam? Is Bangladesh not a Muslim country? Why didn't follow the teachings of their religion? Religion especially that thinks it can solve everything can't! Islam got it all wrong in the aspect of bad governance by frowning against protest!
