For my area I get at least 23h:59minutes power supply everyday except maybe NEPA want to carry out maintenance work..

Can the grid collapsing come after each month cos that will be nice since nothing is working in this country anymore ..

Imagine that. Sometimes when I read that Power Grid has collapsed, I can't really relate.

It's a partial collapse. Not total. Some are affected, some are not

Should we not be asking why this grid does not collapse in other countries? I have never heard of say South Africa or Egypt being plunged into darkness beause their national grid collapsed. And ours has collapsed plunging us into darkness not less than 5 times this year alone. Shouldn't we be asking if we are using obsolete technologies? Shouldn't we be asking some critical questions?

The news did not say you did not enjoy light uninterrupted since morning, because that is not what the collapse of a national grid entails. The news said MOST PART of the country suffered from TOTAL BLACKOUT. Read again.

The national grid is not like a bedroom switch. It is a system that when it collapsed it triggers a domino effect. Most persons lose supply at once, meanwhile a few might have light. If it is restored quickly, as in this case, then those few may not even notice at all. If it is not restored quickly, supply fizzles out and maybe thats when you would have been concerned.
