Defence Chief Summons Security Forces For Closed-Door Meeting by Wisdomkosi(op): 1:20pm On Aug 06, 2024
A closed-door meeting is set to take place today, Tuesday, between the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and all heads of security forces in the country.

Although the agenda remains undisclosed, sources indicate that the meeting will focus on implementing President Bola Tinubu’s crackdown order amidst ongoing protests.

The meeting, scheduled to take place at Defence Headquarters, will be attended by prominent figures, including heads of intelligence agencies such as DSS, NIA, DIA, and the Inspector-General of Police.

Additionally, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, will be present.

Heads of Correctional Services, Immigration, Customs, NSCDC, and other paramilitary organisations have also been invited.

“The meeting will start at any moment from now. It is a strategic meeting on the implementation of the order given by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” a security source said.

This development comes after President Tinubu cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday and summoned all Service Chiefs to discuss the escalating protests and the appearance of Russian flags in major cities like Kano and Kaduna.

There have also been concerns about foreign influence in the protests.

The police have arrested several individuals in connection with the spread of Russian flags.

Chartered Accountancy, How Lucrative Is It Today?

Good day family, please,is becoming a chartered accountant still lucrative today? What about matured fellows who wants to use it as bridge to move from their entirely different professions into accounting profession? Does it open doors to leave Nigeria giving that ICAN have reciprocal relationship with a few British accounting bodies? Just anything to guide others as the profession is of today? Thanks and remain blessed. Moderators 1forall, crazyman this thread would be beneficial to millions of unemployed and underemployed Nigerian youths if taken to the front page.

All these running from post to post are not necessary..

The C-in-C should do the right thing.. he knows what to do. I understand nobody close to them tells them the truth.. everyone sugarcoats it to protect their daily bread..

He knows what to say to put an end to all of these..

Thinking that it would all fizzle out on its own or the people should just get used to the hardships and move on, is the height of irrespónsibility.. even as they currently queue at fueling stations to buy fuel for 700-1000/L across the country..

Tinubu is in a dillema,

If half of what has happened in the North in the name of protest was happening in Eastern Nigeria.

Army would have flooded the East. The instruction would have been kill them all. Wipe them off.

For the North, Tinubu is seriously sweating. He can't order kill them all in the North, that will mean, 2027 is gone forever.

That might also mean that he can't control the after mat.

HelRufai is smiling now. wishing it continues till government of Tinubu goes down

The government should plea with the protesters with a convincing reassurance of a better governance and leadership. It doesn't make sense to see innocent young people dying all because they are clamoring for a better Nigeria.

Jesus loves you ❤️
