Severally that I have found myself in this kind of condition,I am very quiet and calm , and reflecting and running back to old memories ,happy memories that will put up a smile on my face ,I don’t wanna die in distress ,any am going to die ,it’s going to be calm ,nothing shakes my spirit anymore

Nah, it's not about fulfilling anything. It's because the idea of their heaven sounds terrible and extremely boring. They'll rather stay on earth and continue to live life than die and wake up to serve and praise a being for eternity.
I'm 100% certain that most Nigerian Christians living in Nigeria will not pray for long life if death was guaranteed to make them wake up as a citizen of America/Canada.
It's the same reason why their pastors collect money from them constantly to enjoy the luxury of life (even though they claim the world is about to end) because the idea of heaven sounds like a nightmare.

What would you expect them to do in such a precarious situation?

They are already in the belly of the big bird midair, it is impossible for them to open the door and run into safety....

Any rational human being will remember the power of God and hope on supernatural hand to rescue the situation and that instant.

An atheist will suddenly drop his unbelief and lash on to the rusty armor of faith that has been idle for a very long time in his heart.

Do you know that I was among the first 100 agnostics to have come out of Nigeria? Meaning, I once sounded like you. Now, here's a question I couldn't answer which made me retract a bit:
