We have enough refineries to produce thrice our local consumption public and pribate combined but crude has been sold in advance or spent in advance. |

tunjijones:How does this story reduce the price of food? What is the government doing to bring the price of food down? Nothing. Since ur government can't bring the price of food down, which means you people don't know how to rule, so you should all resign, Period. I don't know why you are still in government. Can't you people seek counsel from other countries? Like UAE, Saudi Arabia. We can't have people that can't manage our resources as leaders. Next time, people should think before coming to contest for election, now we need solutions and not complain. |

Federal government should have a farm and not rely on the farmers they give grains and governors, they only buy jet and houses. The farmers export the produce out of Nigeria and sell most of the grains out. Is it that federal government can't have farms in all the states? They should begin to think of solutions and stop complaining, people are not interested in all these things, they only need results, moreover no one sent you to contest for election. The problems of being a president has started, deal with it before you destroy the country. |

Oshkosch:Nigerians are the problem in this country, not the leaders. Petrol is sold for an average of 3000 Naira per liter in the UK and other Western countries. The issue is that we have crude oil but are importing from them. You should ask yourselves why. It’s because the average Nigerian likes to chase shadows. You want things to be cheaper in Nigeria compared to our neighboring countries, while countries with sophisticated technology like the US and UK find it impossible to control their borders. We should be rioting for an increase in the minimum wage, not for the cost of things. China doesn’t care about the price of the dollar; they work hard to earn a living. As long as you keep complaining about prices, this country is not going to get better. Let me tell you a secret: virtually everything is cheaper in Nigeria, including its people. |

treesun:Why can this government build and fix the refineries since APC government came into power in 2015 if not some group of people in government in benefiting handsomely from the huge importation of petroleum products and crude oil swap arrangement with some people. |

When Atiku said he will scrap NNPC if elected, many people insulted him. NNPC is the most corrupt, unproductive and anti-people government establishment in Nigeria. |

D1uncle:We like cheap things, You cant compare Nigeria with Europe and China. Our leaders are the problem not the people. How many people are working in this country? How many schools will implement this minimum wage? How will the government make sure employers, schools pay there workers this minimum wage monthly? He should leave everything to be cheap for us, we like it like that, he should train people, prepare the adequate structures needed before all this things his. How many people is working with the government? This minimum wage of a thing is a scam, is Nigeria government able to impose minimum wage on small scale business owners? Few people are working, minimum wage is a scam, because only 2 percent of Nigerians are working. Minimum wage will not work, except everyone in Nigeria is working. What of people that do menial jobs? What of people that hawk things? Tinubu is a very wicked man, he did not consider others before take harsh decisions like this, how many Nigerians are educated? How many are rich? What are you saying? |

I thought they said when they remove fuel subsidy it won’t benefit neighboring countries again. What then is happening? |
| Re: FG Spends $600m On Fuel Importation Monthly – Edun by castro316: 12:18pm On Aug 07, 2024 |
you spend $600m and make $1.2bn monthly. while you guys bring back OUR petrol which you produce in MALTA, INDONESIA AND OTHER COUNTRIES WHICH YOU ARE MAJOR SHAREHOLDER IN THEIS OIL COMPANIES, you sell it to neighboring countries who are able to buy it at more than N2000 a liter (about $1 and above), make your money and come back and complain to us that OUR petrol is scarce. you removes subsidy, the only way we were benefiting from this fuucked up country and you keep telling us lies upon lie. Bring back our subsidy joor. You further devalue OUR currency so that you get more nominal value from your import of OUR oil, you come and tell us rubbish. you now suddenly believe that your own country is too poor to buy the fuel that you mine from their own land. Now you have full custody of the crude, now you don't need the people who own the crude anymore. |

Does it matter if fuel is cheaper in Nigeria or not? If subsidy is removed and Nigerians are paying the cost price for fuel as dictated by the market forces (say X Naira) and I decide to export fuel to Benin and sell for X + 5 Naira, how does that affect anything? Its business. NNPC, make their margin, I make my margin. Throw open the market and let anyone produce or import and sell fuel as they buy. The truth is that subsidy is still being paid and the government wouldn't open and say the truth. Ijaya123: |

Baba don't let me yab you o. how can you compare a country like UK which doesn't have crude and sells fuel for N3000 a liter to us which has the crude to be buying this same fuel at the same N3000? if our refineries are working why should we send our crude half way across the globe refine it and transport it back? No be juju be dat? port Harcourt refinery can be steady and deliver 300,000 barrels daily and Nigeria will sell fuel for N200 . this in turn will reduce dollar rate to N400 or N500. This UK should be begging us for our oil since we can produce this oil in our country D1uncle: |
| Re: FG Spends $600m On Fuel Importation Monthly – Edun by gotnel: 12:42pm On Aug 07, 2024 |
Solution to this issue is the supply of crude oil to the local refineries and let them pay in naira as directed by the federal executive council headed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu . Case closed |

Nigeria na case study. E be like say you fit buy car for N10m but instead na N100m you dey use hire car to use. We get plenty refineries yet we leave all to spoil and decide to import oil instead of repairing. No be 10 years the refinery spoil o. Them no repair am. Economic sabotage. |

treesun:This was what Peter Obi specifically said he will stop. You are still using this as an excuse to pay yourself subsidy and at the same time jack up the price of fuel. I know you know Nigerians are stupid, but many of them know what you know now. Is government directly involved in importation of fuel? No! Who are the importers? Wale tinubu and other NNPC officers. Is Subsidy gone? No! How much is spent on subsidy now? About 250% of the last amount buhari paid as subsidy. |
