you don’t need any research to know the innermost lane is the shortest. That’s why in marathon all athletes endeavor to run on that lane, regardless wot lane they started out in.
So, in 200m, anyone who gets the inner lane, will be placed far behind while the person on the outermost lane will be placed ahead of all the rest. They don’t stand on equal places b4 the race.
Everything na excuse. Have you ever bothered to listen to football coaches complain on losing? Some say it’s cos the grass on pitch is too long, some say fans were hostile, some say there was smoke on the pitch etc. there is always an excuse for failure if that’s what u mean

gabby thomas was in lane 7 or so. lane 6,7 are the best lanes.
by the time lane 9 where ofili was finish the curve, you are already struggling to catch up with the others
