Jan 66 coup was not an Igbo coup. It was not sanctioned by the Igbo nation. Some officers decided to act on what they perceived as national interest is not an Igbo coup, and it was never to shift power to igbos because even Ademoyega and Fola Oyewole said so, and they were participants in that coup as non igbos they could as well deny and park igbos under the bus, but they refused.
Note that in the army in the 60s igbos were majority in the officers corps it was almost an 80:20 ratio so if any coup was to happen, considering the amount of secrecy required for the coup, the igbos would be more among the participants.
Now subsequently if a coup were to happen in Nigeria now, considering the high number of northerners in the officer corps, the Northerners will be more in Number. So please quit that lie abeg.

It's true. In UK no opposition party is supporting the looting and violent protesters no matter how legitimate it may appear but in Nigeria all opposition see it as an opportunity to reap political benefits. No wonder Atiku and Obi are tacitly and openly supporting the violent protesters and warning security personel instead of cautioning the violent protesters looting and destroying people's properties. We have a long way to go.

Please with all the violence and looting in UK, can you state the number of protesters killed? We are talking of professionalism in all shades and shapes.
At least we have seen a video of an army officer warning police officers not to manhandle the protesters and also warning them not to shoot. The video is on WhatsApp since yesterday. We have also seen a video of security agency killing a 16 year old boy protesting in Kaduna. This is a boy only protesting on the street and was gunned down. Today the army authority has gone to condoled with his family but some of you with no human feeling still giving support to over zealous security officers that are unjustly killing unarmed protesters.
All the killings are uncalled for and unprofessional of those that perpetrated the act. Whether rioters or protesters, the law of the land doesn't permit extrajudicial killing in any disguise.
Give the UK a time, all the people that looted shops will be apprehended one after the other and that was why the police never fire a single shot on them because they have a working system that abides by the rule of law.
I am not trying to justify an act of looting or vandalizing of government or people's livelihood but the law must be adhered to. The looters are unarmed, reaction should be how to arrest them and not how to kill them, that is tantamount to extrajudicial killing, which is against the law of the land.
Bayo Onanuga citing the case of UK, he should have also quoted the number of killing done by the police there to buttress his point. He also forgot to tell us that the issue in contention in UK is quite different from the issue in contention in Nigeria. The people there are not protesting because of hunger in the land. They are protesting because of the killing of 3 Christian girls by Muslim extremists. If the police had killed one or two of the looters, oppositions wouldn't have kept quiet because the police would have breached the law of UK. Bayo Onanuga is just been economical with the truth and playing to the gallery as APC and his ardent supporters always seen doing.
Atiku has done the needful by advising the security agencies not to be over zealous and use brunt force on the protesters, as history will judge him kindly in this and same with others playing politics with the lives of Nigerians.

By removing petrol subsidy and floating the naira, Tinubu ruined the businesses of those who depended on the fraudulent fx market and false subsidy claims with one blow. In case you are not aware, tankers loaded with petrol left Nigeria through northern borders for years. Some of these smuggled petrol had subsidies paid but were sold in neighbouring countries. Or why did Niger and Cameroon complain when subsidy was removed? You may not know, but when some tracker were to be placed on tankers to know where they are at a particular time after loading in Lagos, a specific set of people opposed it. Incase you also do not know, some of the elites depend on smuggling for survival.
