While I’m still conducting my own research, the current situation appears deeply flawed and laden with political maneuvering. The oil and gas sector in Nigeria is a critical livelihood source for at least 5 million people, directly or indirectly. Dangote’s last-minute entry into the refinery space threatens to displace many who depend on this sector for their daily bread.

If Dangote’s refinery becomes operational, there’s a real risk that other government refineries will be sidelined, regardless of any future administration’s efforts to revitalize them. Historical patterns suggest that even if Tinubu’s administration invests in repairing these refineries, subsequent political shifts could lead to sabotage, undermining these efforts and favoring Dangote’s monopoly.

Dangote’s primary motive is profit, and while he might present a facade of social responsibility, his core business interests will always prioritize financial gains. The idea that one entity, whether it’s Dangote or any political figure, should control the entire oil and gas sector is fundamentally flawed. Such monopolistic control would not only harm the industry but also the countless Nigerians who rely on it.

To address these issues, I propose forming a multi-geopolitical zone oversight committee to manage the oil and gas sector. This committee should ensure no single entity can monopolize the industry, thereby protecting the livelihoods of millions and fostering a fair, competitive environment.
. There is nothing like monopoly here all of us are in this country when the government gave some individuals license to build modular refineries but instead they kept it and they are doing importation of refined petroleum products. Are we moving forward backward here if government cannot manage its own then let's them sell it to whoever that can do well

This is a blessing to Nigeria if the elites turn against themselves .
It is time to unravel the mystery in the oil sector (corruption)

Nigeria! House of commotion. You really can't trust anybody.

Another corruption strategy will be introduced or adopted by the new committee

God save is
