My visa appointment was rescheduled to November 2nd which is a SATURDAY. Does visa interviews hold on weekends. Please Ild like to know.Thank you

If this is true, then you are still going to be rescheduled.

1. Although, USA embassy follows the pattern in the country where they are located (especially core religious countries). So, if the normal work week is Mondays to Fridays OR Sundays to Thursdays, then the USA embassy does the same.

2. But 97% of the time, USA embassies Work days refers only to days when the embassy is open and. does not include weekends and holidays.

My school resumes on August 26th, but my interview is scheduled for December. I applied for an emergency visa but was denied.
Despite continually checking, I have not seen any available dates close to my school's start date. If I defer, I will lose my admission.

Could anyone advise if it’s possible to get an interview date for August? I am uncertain about my next steps and would greatly appreciate any guidance.

1. You have between now and August 15 to be able to access the appointment booking website.

2. From August 16 to August 26, 2024, You won't be able to do anything on the appointment booking site.

3. If you are traveling after September, 2024 , I would rather you waited till August, 27, 2024 before you start your visa application process.

Thanks for your response and good luck with your physical interview. My mum submitted her IW documents at DHL yesterday. I hope she is not asked to come in for a physical interview. All the best!

I did the physical interview today. It was successful and I still don't know why I wasn't qualified for the Dropbox. All the same, It was approved and that is what matters.

The VO said I should get my passport latest in one week. I have a flight in exactly one week but it is evening so I will take my chances. Even if I get the passport in the morning, I can still fly same day.

I guess this was to see my immigration history but I am not very sure.
He typed for less than one minute and told me to pick up in a week.

Please when I initially applied for my B1/B2 visa interview scheduled for Abuja, I put my document delivery at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Please is it possible to change the DHL delivery to Benin City, Edo State for convenience as my interview is in September 2024?

Please is it okay to buy visa fee now for someone that have intention to travel early next month considering the planned changing to a new visa service ( we are hoping to request for emergency appointment if we buy the visa fee)

Good morning. I just randomly checked today when a friend mentioned his appointment was moved forward and i discovrered an email had been sent for me to reschedule my appointment. I missed it cos it went to my spam box, I have logged in to ustraveldocs and there is no option of rescheduling, Pls what can I do?

1. Yes. It is possible . Login to your CGI and click on update profile , and modify your DHL delivery location under " Mailing Address .

Hey 🤠

1. Yes it is advisable to invite both parents together . They are husband and wife and the consular himself or herself have parents and have been trained to understand that some husband and wife till the very old age are like siamese twins as a result of deep love.

2. If your mother-inlaw applies alone , the consular might thinks she is coming for au pair or nanny. If your father-inlaw applies alone, the consular might thinks he is coming for medical. Nonetheless, this does not mean that they cannot be successful with individual application. Yes, i will support both of them to apply together but your husband must proof financial ability beyond reasonable doubts.

3. They are adults so they need individual DS-160. Fill two separate DS-160 for them and In each DS-160 form, they should mention one another as travel companion respectively.

4. Once you have two DS-160 confirmations. Go to CGI and create profile For one of them (naturally the father) with his email address used in his DS-160 and proceed to schedule appointment.

5. On step 6, you will see : “Add by Name” or "Add Existing Applicant" if you have a group/family member (including a child) who needs to apply for a visa with you. Click Add by Name and add the mother's details (DS-160 confirmation number, name, passport number etc information).

6. Once that is done you will see that the mother is added to the appointment and the next step should display calculation of visa fee application for two people.

What’s the expected amount for a self-sponsored bank statement for B1/B2 visa to USA? Wondering how much is enough to show that the applicant is not a risk and would return home.

IW Application Timeline

Background - Owing to the long wait time for visa appointment for IW application I was lay back in filling our (DW, son and myself) DS 160 form as Abuja had 86 days while Lagos had about 117 days as at first week of June 2024. I later started filling the form with Abuja in mind as the place of submission. I got our photos ready by 15th July, 2024 and was about making payments for the visa when I decided to have a look at the wait time for visa appointment again by 17th July. And Voila! Lagos had 6 days , I quickly filled another form for Lagos for the 3 of us, made payment, detached my family from my appointment scheduled portal and opened new portal for DW and son, then scheduled each person. The next day, appointment days were released for us all, and we chose the 24th of July for submission.

Timeline

24th July 2024- Submission at DHL Surulere
25th July 2024- Passports delivered to consular office
26th July 2024- Application approved by consular officer subject to final processing
29th July 2024- Visa issued
30th July 2024 – Passports received from consular session and is currently being processed for delivery
31st July 2024- Passports ready for pickup
7th August 2024- Passports were picked up from DHL Surulere with five years visa for us all.
