Some chaps in NNPC have made themselves devils thinking they are in control of human destinies in the place called Nigeria.

strangest:
But Reno O'Mockery said that Nigeria has sold all the crude oil till infinity and that it was Buhari that signed it. Where did this crude for Dangote came from? Or is it because he whine dem about MALTA HEIST DEAL
That is true, this is why they cannot abide by the local production and sale obligation. Reno was right

Tinubu has a lot of work to do

How could NUPRC be pushing that hard and the IOC still dont wanna do the needful?

Is the IOC not answerable to any higher body?

cant NUPRC report the IOC to a higher body?

It seems there are too many loopholes in that ministry and FG might prolly have to overhaul the entire ministry to fight the corruption

6 of 15 isnt 60% by the way
Because the IOC own the crude and they have usually sold them ahead of time. Why didn't Dangote arrange for his crude supply beforehand?

Well the many abadacabra in this oil sectors are alot ,I guess the IOCs have sold future stocks to traders in the stock exchange markets, well they should find solution,it won't be a bad thing if all the crudes we produce are refined here.

the sea has the biggest oil reserve in the world dangote refineries is closer to the sea, Dangote should just seek funds from shareholders and get an offshore rig operational

Dangote should have just gathered $5bn extra to buy OMLs. All his businesses produce from assets they own, they don't buy raw materials from anybody. There is even a fertiliser company that bought OML just to secure gas supply for their factory.

If this refinery was in Niger delta, Dangote will simply site the refinery on his OML. Even greenville lng has their own OML.

Ever before building this refinery, Dangote should have been buying OMLs.
Exactly my thought, he should be looking for means to buy/own his own OML,

Now if he brings out money to try to buy OML, they will never sell to him. It is like conspiracy. Somebody is not happy with him somewhere.

How the Tinubu administration is unable to give maximum priority to local refiners especially at this point where we are experiencing long queues at various fuel stations across the country and also amid the unbearable impact of subsidy removal, still beats me.

It's local content because the company is located In Nigeria and pay tax on some things to Nigeria, employ locals to work in the company who also in turn pay tax and it cascade down to their families. He will make the petroleum products available meaning scarcity will be reduced or eliminated. Now he will sell at internatuonal price because he buys the crude at international price, if you want him to sell cheap, sell crude to him cheap.
what we are saying is sell to him first.
There is plenty sense here. But you know MTN nigeria is not local right? There are many ways government can leverage on the Refinery being in Nigeria. Crude swap for refined products is one but other refinery must work let's not enter into a dangerous monopoly

That window is already closed, he should have moved into oil and gas trading then start doing backward integration from there.

Are you suggesting we should wait for all other refinery to work before we start producing or supporting local refinery that is ready to operate?

How long do we need to wait for other refinery to work? Don't forget we have being waiting forever for Nigerian refineries to work but to no end and you want us to keep waiting. Haba now, thats not fair on us.

I don't know why dangote is even bothered. If I was him, I will import my crude from other African countries and also sell to them and other African countries. At the end, its Nigerians that will come begging.

Mtn is local even though the investors are partly south Africans and others, but its still local. So long it pays taxes to your government and employ your people then its local... don't also forget, taxes are meant to be use to create viable environment and infrastructure for the said business that is paying it to strive, so yea MTN is local with diverse investors.

I am suggesting that we should allow market fair play. All refineries be it private or government own should get share of available crude based on capacity.

Glo is coexisting with MTN that is true privatization. The masses have benefited from the competition in that sector. Leading to price being more favorable . Monopoly is never a good option.

I appreciate Dangote for always keeping us in the loop. Transparency is key in this game, and his proactive approach is refreshing. This clarification will help dispel any rumors and keep the focus on the refinery’s progress. We are rooting for you, Dangote! Let’s get this refinery running smoothly.
That's the beauty of private sector system compared to government establishments. They should privatize all the ministries if possible.

Tinubu government PR is also poor.honestly he needs to sack his ministers of information. The impression out there has been that NNPC has never given dangote any crude and its been escalated by the opposition.

Tinubu is truly old.He used to be smarter than this. Also, gbajabiamila is not assisting him well!

A little clearer now. Some guys can't let go their illegitimate monetary biz. They're still acquiring the corrupt wealth through proxies.

One there can't be market fair play as the industry is highly regulated by both the national and international government. However, I agree that all should get the available crude. Our concern here s that the IOC are not selling to locals.

Also, you can't be crying of monopoly when no one else is taking on the challenge of building and when someone builds, you shout monopoly. I will rather have a local monopoly than importing. Just imagine we have at least one individual in different industries Nigeria, just imagine what it will do to our currency and how lucrative Nigeria will be.

At least let's have companies first before we start talking of demystifying monopoly. Cheers

at least it will reduce pressure on exchange rate , again does it make sense for you to extract your own crude export it to Europe then you go to Europe and still buy it as crude in order to import it back
What sense does it make for Dangote to use $20 billion for oil refinery in the 21dt century when the world is talking about green energy and electric cars?

it will 100s of billions of dollars and several years to ramp up production from several OMLs to meet production of 650 ,000 bold. Do you know that SPDC ( not Snepco) is producing about 130,000 bold now. This was a company that produced more than 1 million bopd years ago. Even the total oil production from the fields sold by SPDC is not up to 150,000 nopd
Production from oil wells depreciates over time as the volume of oil in reservoir reduces.
