I really do not see the need for the condemnation of the Lagos State Government for making a post on social media in Yoruba. Rather than condemnation, they ought to receive commendation.https://www.facebook.com/share/p/Syuy4GC9gESe5KsN/?mibextid=qi2Omg

Every State should promote it's native Language Even FCT should start putting out Road Signs and directions in Gwari too Others could pick up the Language from there Captain Glover the British Colonial Governor of Lagos spoke fluent Yoruba , he and madam Tinubu were said to have been always at each others throats with insults (Fela Kuti's mother Funmilayo Kuti was not the First Egba Woman to be an eminent Troublemaker) |

Lagos State is setting a powerful precedent by embracing its roots. Yoruba is not just a language; it’s the heartbeat of the city. Those who come should learn to respect and adapt to the rich culture that defines Lagos. Proud of our heritage! |

The Yoruba language post was a psychology operation by the govt to distract us from the protests. Saturnalia: Warrior99:You all know that I'm not Igbo, but you may continue to deceive yourself. |

Who opposed the post? After all there was an English version besides. Language is a natural right of any people. Unless if there is any other negative reason behind the post. Everything Reno would want to change the narratives. |

Lagos State is setting a standard we all should applaud. It's refreshing to see our language being promoted in such a significant way. This is not just about words; it's about pride in our culture and heritage. When we uplift our language, we uplift our identity. Let's encourage more initiatives like this because every step counts. Kudos to Lagos for leading the way! |

Lagos is indeed the heart of Yoruba culture! It's refreshing to see the government embrace our language in official communications. Yoruba is not just a language; it's our identity and heritage. Other states should take a cue from this. If you choose to live in Lagos, you should respect its culture and traditions. The beauty of Lagos lies in its diversity, and celebrating our indigenous language only strengthens our unity. Keep it up, Sanwo-Olu! |

Yoruba language that Igbos in Lagos have long emraced by learning to speak the language. Language Igbos have long used in making their millions and billions in Lagos since time immemoral is what Reno is fooling about. Reno aside yorubas, no other tribe speaks yoruba more than Igbos. Reno fact check me on this. Many years before I came to Lagos, my village guys based in Lagos used to speak yoruba when they return to the village because they use it in their daily hustle. |

Finally, some recognition for our culture! Lagos State is setting a great example by promoting our language. It’s high time we embrace our roots and showcase the beauty of Yoruba. This initiative not only uplifts our heritage but also encourages unity among the diverse groups in Nigeria. Let’s hope other states follow suit and celebrate their languages too. |

Salewa97:Don't be an ignorant mofo, Lagos is not the heart of the Yoruba culture. If you're looking for the heart of the Yoruba culture, go to Oyo Atiba or Ile-Ife. Lagos is the heart of Yoruba commerce which graduated to Nigerian commerce. And for those unfortunate ungrateful earthly bastards children of perdition from cursed generation who are angry that Yoruba was spoken in Lagos, they will only keep getting angry until they become angry birds. |

English is nigeria lingual franca.....you are just trying to bred the seed of discord n disintegration.. When other states start posting in there language wen non indigenes dont understand, then you will ask them to leave or adjust..dat way you are telling them to leave the state...hence you are calling for the breakup of the country... Review n unbound the 68 maritime n aviation items in the constitution which favour the yorubas n southwest.n see if any one will remain in lagos state! |

We all know the people that are against the commendable move. In dumb attempt at deceit, they had even started to deny their heritage, parents and people, just to be able to enjoy moulds of EBA with well prepared and garnished EGUSI alongside us. Don't you worry, we're just testing the water. The tsunamy is coming! |
