Yorubas ganged up to pull down president Goodluck Jonathan's govt, Endsars protest in 2020 was branded as Igbo protest by the same yorubas.Yorubas have always pallied the north to deny the south east region their right to the presidential seat. I hope they are not looking for sympathy from the region they have dealt with treacherously? Very wicked and deadly set of people. |

Stupid analysis! When you supported Buhari to power , you didn’t know about the uniqueness of each region. |

Racoon:In your childish mind now you think you have made some sense! But all you've spoken is blatantly nonsense proudly sponsored by some Nairaland stupid Mods to reach the page front. People like you, with your ignorant South - North stinking metallity are the true problems to this nation. Take this as a free advice Mr. Nigeria is made up over 350 different ethnic groups and languages which are bigger than South or Yoruba alone. The sooner you start to see this greater picture the better for you |

Ahigbo1:There is no protest done under APC, and especially under this Tinubu that will get every region involved. The only "protest" that can do that is the general election. And maybe it's outcome. |

Uncletony:And you are just one of the problems. Igbo tax did not make Lagos...far from the truth. Dangote Refinery 19 billion dollars investment is bigger than all Igbo people investments in Lagos. Did you see any fulani man crying about Lagos every day? Igbo are mainly into trading and they hardly pay tax like an established manufacturers like Dangote, Nestle, Mobil, GTB, GLO, etc |

Yorubas are almost pooing in their pants because with this protest the north has made a statement that they will not longer give Tinubu any support like they did in 2023 elections. The south east region also made a statement with their refusal to participate in the protest meaning they prefer to remain neutral and watch the south west and north fight like dogs in the mud. |

CriminalTinubu:What you failed to understand in the writeup was that the North wants regime change - calling for military to take over or even inciting a foreign country to take over. Sowore and his zombie followers were just used as a pawn in the hands of the North. The youth zombie followers were even the worst. It is obvious the agenda for the protest in the south is totally different from the agenda of the north. |

I watched how governor Sanwi Olu quickly rushed to pay condolence visit to the family of late Onyeka Onwenu as if he truly love the Igbos but we know his hypocrisy .The Yorubas now eagerly desire the Igbos to support them to fight the north. When they finally succeed, they will reconcile with the north and resume their hatred for the igbo people. |

The idiot who is from southwest lambasted his region. What a capital fool! Southwest fight for your region, I repeat, fight for southwest and everything entity in it. There's nothing like one Nigeria. Fight for restructuring so our resources will reach us alone. Southwest is rich in oil, bitumen, limestone, cash crops, food crops, vast farming lands and brains. Don't allow one idiot who thinks he knows all deceive you with foolish English that his father did not inherit. If Nigeria breaks today or restructured am for south west today, yesterday and forever |

aviara:Your problem just the rest of you guys is lack of knowledge. 1. Yoruba has only once joined with the North to elect a President from the North 2. But Igbo has always done that. 3. Zik betrayed Awolowo by rejecting a Yoruba offer to make an Igbo man a Prime Minister which is like a president of Nigeria to accept an house boy position of ceremonial president. And by that action of betrayal, Igbo people were responsible for installing Tafawa balewa as leader of Nigeria. And thereby giving the control of Nigeria to the Hausa-Fulani till today. That was the greatest political betrayal in the history of Nigeria. 4. In second republic again, the Igbo people people voted and joined with the North to formed the goverment 5. it was the Yoruba people that installed Jonathan. They installed him first after the death of yaradua when the North wanted to change the rule. The Yoruba like Wole soyinka protested and Jonathan was installed as president. 6. And during the 2011 presidential election, the yoruba voted massively for Jonathan instead of their own party ACN. As a matter of fact, a yoruba was running as a vice president candidate but the yoruba did not vote for him So please try and study history first before having a public opinion about what you dont have knowledge about. |

Uncletony:Today, it's is igbos tax money that built Lagos, tomorrow it is Niger delta oil money that built Lagos bla bla bla .... I wonder why same tax money couldn't build your 5 plots in the saaaad yeast region 1. Lagos can never be a sacrificial lamb. 2. Your 5 plots will be the sacrificial lamb. 3. Lagos and the entire SW are determined to defend their land against cockroaches like you any day any time. 4. That is why the protest in the SW was peaceful because we didn't allow 5 plotters to hide under the umbrella of 'protest' to unleash their hatred on government infrastructures. |

So traders don't pay tax?, dangote of yesterday?!, do u know how much trade fair alone gives Lagos government daily . Trade fair was built by the igbos without government support. Solseal007:How did the yorubas failed woefully? 1.For coming out to exercise their constitutional right by staging a peaceful protest against bad governance? 2. For ensuring that the protest was peaceful? 3. For warning igbos against protesting in Lagos to avoid destruction of lives and properties as was the case in the #EndSars protest? Oh! Because they came out and protested against 'their own' instead of them to keep quiet just like the hausas did during buhari's tenure? You should be ashamed of yourself |

The writer got it wrong by using this recent protest as a basics to form his opinion. From onset, the protest was designed to take different dimensions. In the North West Nigeria, the politicians hajack it to score political point while North central and some part of North East were purely based on the economic grievances. So, it was totally wrong for the writer to generalized the Northern region calling for military take over. EndSARS protest remains the Only protest that reflected the yearnings of Nigerians. |

Igbos are homogeneous in thinking. They follow each other and one another just as people of the same family and roots. Predominantly Christians of Catholic faith and enterprising spirits. They only protest against what they see as anti-Igbo and against their freedom as a race. They continue to demonstrate their unity of common purpose and ideology just like the great USA would always preach the American Dream. Throughout Nigerian history, they have demonstrated that unity is a driving force for their growth and advancement. In time of election, they usually sleep facing the same side and when they move to boycott any protest, they do it together in the same spirit. It's then no gainsaying that such a race would easily achieve her potential faster than her neighbours who are divided along religion /creed |

The write up though raises some issues, but completely delved into ethnic baiting which I perceive as trying to be clever by half. As someone mentioned, Nigeria has more than 200 ethnic groups but the article focused on the big 3 that have always been our problem as a nation. It occured to me that this is a Tribune post, an Afenifere mouthpiece. If you look at it that way, you will understand the motivation and agenda. |

NSK4U:You missed the point. Igbos are not homogeneous in thinking. Igbos don't follow the other. No tribe assert individualistic thinking than the Igbos. But they were united in 2023 election because, they supported OBJ from South West and GEJ from South South. Now check it, OBJ ruled for 8 years. And Osibanjo from the same South West acted as VP for 8 years. And now that power came to south, you expect the South East to vote another South West person again. That is the cheating that is causing the problem. Afenifere and many Yoruba with conscience said that it was the turn of the South East. But Tinubu and his gang said over their dead body. Now the Igbos have decided to give him a chance to do as he likes. We are not protesting against him. It is not because some politicians say don't protest. In Igboland, we have a saying that if your own hunger is the greatest, then you should be allowed to eat the greatest food. So Tinubu said his own hunger is the greatest, no protest, he should eat the greatest food in peace. This is the stand of the Igbos. |
