Because allegedly, Tinubu is the real monopoly.

He wants only his companies to operate the fuel system (but the ones in Nigeria, and the ones they sell to Malta).

And he used propaganda to make it look like it is Dangote that deserves the hate.

[quote author=underpinna post=131419449]If he succeeds, the cabals may use Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries against his own.

If this happens, then the competition will be good for Nigerian masses as we witnessed in the telecom sector.
Let's keep watching!!.

I don’t get you bro; was he supposed to pay for local crude with USD?

And when they refused to sell to him, was he supposed to pay the international sellers with Naira?
well , he is supposed to pay for crude oil with the world wide accepted dollars at whichever price in dollars per barrel . Crude oil accounts for 90% or there-about of our in-flow of foreign exchange where we sadly don't have enough in circulation for importers . Scarcity of dollars jacks up it's value against our Naira , the government needs abundant dollars in circulation not the currency they can print , no . You don't take coal to Newcasle they say . The business mogul didn't exchange the dollar for Brazil's local currency to pay for their local crude did he ? Not that the Brazilians would accept such transaction anyway because every country more often than not needs the internationally accepted dollars to do trade outside their domain .
Maybe when Nigeria has advanced in science and technology and we have started producing 95% of the products we need instead of importing virtually everything as we do now , then the demand for foreign currency will decrease drastically and local refineries can start paying for crude oil in our local currency . For now , the demand for for-ex far outweighs what's coming in for any serious government to sell the country's major source of for-ex in-flow in local currency . Good morning all .

Because he has never crossed the path of the cabals all his businesses are the ones they are less interested in but you see oil?
You should be asking yourself why are the four refineries not repair for donkey years? Why the subsidy issue going back and forth? Why the president we have always loved to be petroleum ministers?
They are trying to tell him make you dey your dey and make we dey our dey.
Love him or hate he has done much to this nation than many of your so called elected and appointed leaders.

The steep devaluation of the naira since Tinubu came in has been catastrophic for business including Dangote's. The exchange rate is very high and stability has not been achieved, which shows that the policy is not working. The refinery is also the biggest project Dangote has ever undertaken and he borrowed heavily to complete it .The man is also facing sabotage from fuel importers.Even government officials in the oil sector who should be doing everything possible to ensure that the refinery achieves full steady state production seem to be part of the conspiracy to frustrate the project.Dangote is under a lot of pressure .
Nobody is sabotaging Dangote rather he is the one trying to running others out of business.

Understand the oil business before you talk of sabotage .

Why would Dangote asked NMDPRC to ask all depot owners to patronised him when the law didn't say so? Is It not a business of individual owners to decide where it is cheaper for them to source products

Do you understand the implications of his refinery having a loading facility for trucks with capacity to the entire daily need of the country ....all others should shut down including the job losses ....then imagine a scenario where all the trucks in Nigeria cokes to lekki for product .

Dangote financial constraints presently is not the handiwork of saboteurs.....he is reported to require a working capital of roughly 2b dollars and no bank, local and international , is willing to commit more of their resources than they have already done. If there is no working capital to pay for raw materials ,how is he then going to operate the place .

NNPC reneged on their share purchase arrangement wherein they were expected to give him crudes worst nearly 2b dollars after forking 1b in cash to him

There is no sense in NNPC carrying on with that arrangement.

Outside this , a substantial part of his debt obligations falls due this August.

With no bank loans forthcoming to refinance the debt , his options are limited to renegoting his debt or share sales.

Filtch says that the share sales options remains the best but how soon he is able to find the investors willing to take up his offer remains a daunting challenge.

Every depot owner is ready to patronised him if he will be honest and creat the right conditions ....selling your products to Nigerian depots owners at 50 dollars higher than what you sell to outsiders is anti business ...

Seeking to dispense the products into trucks will have depots owners up in arms against you and they have the number and contact to ground you .....they are from every zone of this country

But let's says somebody even wants to sabotage him. Didn't he do same to his brother, BUA , when he bought of their warehouse of sugar and issued a dud cheque?

Find BUA replies Dangote ,online and read
Shouldn't he also taste his own medicine , for once , at least

We thank God the IBOS now know Dangote is a Saviour. The IBOS have fought Dangote for years. They called him several names. They called him a monopolist, government paddy paddy businessman and all sort of bad names. They don't see him as enemy of IBETO and Capital Oil again even before Senator Ifeanyi Ubah died. I remembered fighting for almost two decades on behalf of Dangote against the IBOS. The toughest was during Jonathan when Jonathan allowed importaion of Cement because of IBO importers while Dangote, BUA, Lafarge and others invested billions of dollars in local manufacturing and were competing with IBETO imported cement from Portharcourt. Buhari stopped it immediately Jonathan left. The IBOS cried foul.

They called Dangote Refinery a Scam, they said it can never work. We defended the refinery. We thank God. They (IBOS) are now the ones defending Dangote. They did at a time we are studying their agitation against Dangote but we are surprised they have forgotten IBETO and Capital Oil and shifted base to Dangote. Dangote now have good supporters. They are good in propaganda and they controlled Social Media. If this my posting appears on nairaland, they allow it because they can filter it or even block it. Dangote has good supporters.
Ibos are not the ones defending Dangote..I don't know where you got the statistics from to prove your claim .

As for cement z Dangote used government to stop Ibeto from operating his cement plant ...Nkalagu cement in Ebonyi state ...Ibeto bought of the entire South East government shares and 5he federal government during privatisation the but the next thint was the same federal government armtwisted the opening of the plant .

Obi later issued licenses for but importation..Ibeto built his floating barge in Port Harcourt, imported bulk cement for rebating, Dangote uses Obasanjo to alo scuttle that one .. his shipment was not allowed to berth until it was damaged ...the man suffered stroke just like the owner of St. Louis sugar

When Yaradua came on boardz he was briefed about the incident and the claims of the man , he went ahead to approved the compensation to Ibeto since the court agreed that he pursued a government authorised business...guess what ...the same Dangote went to court to stop the federal government from compensating Ibeto .... Today ,Ibeto cannot run his Nkalagu cement because of interference and the plant that ought to be producing and generating jobs lies idle

Dangote sought to run his Kano brother , BUA , aground because of sugar ...

He has entered the oil business and hopes others would clear out for him ....this is not some 5 or 6 person's dominated business....

By the way , he is still fighting BUA in cement even as his sugar fight seemed to have waned

Sir, you mixed things up. Also there are falsehood in some of your explanation. I am still mourning the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah otherwise, I would have been able to show you a lot of statistics on those defending Dangote. I am always at Nnewi if I am not in Lagos or Ibadan. I shuttle Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka, occasionally, Enugu or Owerri and Portharcourt.

Firstly, I didn't know Chief IBETO had stroke, it might be due to old age after a very long years of hardworking without rest. The issue of Obasanjo regime, Nkalagu Cement factory, Floating barge at Portharcourt was different from how you put it. Lafarge is the largest cement brand in Europe. It is easier for them to import their products to Nigeria using a Jetty and repackage as IBETO was doing. Dangote, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Yinka Folawiyo and few others have shed at the ports that they used for importation of cement. When Obasanjo stopped importation, it affected all of them. Flour Mills of Nigeria (Burham Cement), Yinka Folawiyo (Horse Cement) have more capacity than IBETO. IBETO acquired Nkalagu and pleaded for government to allow him continue with his importation while he is working to start production locally at Nkalagu. Obasanjo government banned importation. Flour Mills and others invested hundreds million of dollars in Calabar for local Cement factory production, Lafarge invested billions to build another Cement factory - Lakatabu II. Dangote invested at Obajana, Gboko, BUA also invested heavily. JONATHAN came surrounded by the IBOS , because of IBO business men, allowed importaion. Mind you, it was not Yaradua that allowed importation, It was JONATHAN. IBETO imported and repackaged and made money from Portharcourt. Trailers of Cement daily moved out of Eagle Jetty. Everybody knows including Jonathan, Peter OBI the Economic Adviser to Jonathan (Anambra State Governor), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Anyim Pius Anyim that immediately Jonathan is out of power, automatically, IBETO Cement operations at Eagle jetty Portharcourt comes to an end. I am not even sure Buhari ordered the Cement importation to stop. IBETO stopped it immediately Buhari was sworn in.

Federal Government has never at any time stopped IBETO from taking over Nkalagu. On Social Media, they gave several excuses. They said FG send EFCC to embarrass IBETO because of Nkalagu and several others but the most common accusation was Dangote.

Now, the same people are defending Dangote. They have forgotten that now Portharcourt or any Federal Government Refinery cannot work. If PH Refinery work for 3 months before being sabotaged then, Nigerians should be grateful to Dangote Refinery and importers. NNPC cannot be struggling to find Crude oil for Dangote and at the same time looking for Crude oil for Portharcourt Refinery. So, one will give way for another and it is government Refineries that will give way.

I don't understand what you aim to achieve with your first paragraph but whatever it is , it is lost on me.

What you have stated here is one of those beer parlour gossips and not what happened in nigeria.

Jonathan became president on May 5th, 2010. ...Ibeto got his waiver to import bulk cement from Obasanjo in 2007 and it was to be in effect 2017.

Dangote used th same Obasanjo after he claimed that there was cement glut in Nigeria occasioned by Importation. This set the ground for Ibeto victimisation by the Obasanjo government.

When Yaradua came him he restored Ibeto waiver and a court ordered compensation in billions.

Dangote went to court to scultle the payment and even the government told us that Dangote wanted a monopoly
