Does Buying A 5G Phone Really Worth It since the coverage isn't available? by FromZeroToHero(op): 1:12am On Aug 10, 2024
I want to get a new Samsung galaxy phone. My choice is A15 (6gb/128gb). It has both 4G and 5G. I would have loved to buy the 5G but the issue is that the 5G coverage is not yet available in my location and nobody knows when it will be available. Is there any need buying it since I can't even use it?

Phones have average lifespan of two years. If it doesn't develop fault, the android version (or any other OS) will become outdated.
I once bought a 3G phone in 2005, and a blackberry in 2006. I regretted both, because their network techs did not become available around Nigeria for years later - I didn't enjoy the phones.

My advice? Don't buy 5G phone for now. You won't enjoy your money.

Don't let the 5g tag confuse you while being more expensive.

4g is still fast.
5g is not available everywhere and even if it is, do you have the funds to subscribe 5g?

That notion is wrong, it's the same data you subscribe for both 4g and 5g, the only difference is 5g is faster and you can burn through your data without nowing, when you are enjoying high definition video it's your data that's going.

Same thing, the burn rate of your data is high so you end up spending more if not double your usual sub.

Except you download heavy games and stuff I don't see a reason for a 5g.

I'd rather buy a 5g router when the time is right than a 5g phone,

When it comes to video calls, meetings you will understand it's importance. Go with the latest available even if it's not everywhere
