Ikaeniyan0:When you people the ruling class keep saying that protest is not the solution to bad governance and economic mismanagement,I wonder what then is. What have you people in the ruling class or supporters of ruling class ever brought to the table as alternative solutions to our economy problems. You said the exchange rate is #1500 to a dollar,is it not government bad policies that caused it? Was it the ordinary citizens that made naira to lost value completely? The people cry, shouted, pleaded but government paid deaf ears to their plights. So what then do you expect the people do? Fold their alms and allow government get away with anything-goes policies? Or clap for government for bringing untold hardship to them? |

Ikaeniyan0:Floating of naira made worse negative economic impact on our economy more than petrol subsidy removal but many Nigerians didn't known that. As long as Tinubu leaves naira exposed to the market variables, our economy will never improve and the prices of goods and services will never come down and people will continue to complain about the high prices of items in the market. Nigeria is an import dependent economy, leaving our naira undefended and exposed to the market variables and manipulation will never bring positive news. Tinubu has to know that and do something to about it. Nigeria government has been so useless in recent years that our leaders are just leaving government's responsibilities to the citizens unlike many other countries who are doing all they can to support their citizens through welfare programmes. Nobody wants distribution of rice or maize but will appreciate if certain things can be subsdised. |

Sowore is only trying to use this protest to shore up his political profile and image before 2027 . |
| Re: Protests Will Resume On October 1 - Omoyele Sowore by joseph1832(m): 9:16am On Aug 11, 2024 |
I'll even want to ask Sowore, what did this protest achieve? Because if this protest didn't achieve anything, then I see no reason why any others protest will also achieve anything. It's that simple. |

Seun if you don't do anything about this paid agents of Tinubu who are going about insulting and attacking everybody who has a different opinion from theirs, a time will come when every thread created on Nairaland will not go beyond one page, cus the sane ones among your members will no longer want to make any post only to be insulted by people collecting less than 10,% of our weekly income per month |

Ikaeniyan0:But it can remove a ruling president. The message ahead of 2027 is clear. That's what the protest has been able to achieve. That's the greatest problem this protest has also solved. If you like, give the north who gave Tinubu a consolatory vote last year 1m naira each, they'd never make same mistake again, likewise those hit by the current regime of hunger nationwide |
