I said it in one of my posts, that this current Minister of Sports is somehow different. He has been so busy giving updates and now he is out to apologise and even clarified many grey areas... something No Minister of Sports have done in the time past. I strongly believe this man will try his best to reposition our sport. Well done Mr Minister and I wish you the very best 2 Likes |

Ministry of Sports should be abolished. Nigeria can save a lot of money by scrapping its entire official sports bureaucracy. Reduce the cost of governance, that's what we want right? And government never performs well anyway. Sports and other forms of entertainment should be purely a private sector matter. Sell of all the Stadia and National Theatre. It's about time. frog12:Firstly, I am not his aide and I don't know him...but, I have been following developments in Paris. Secondly, for the athlete that a German company borrowed a bicycle, you can read my post, I also labeled the entire NOC incompetent, until I read what actually happened..you can look for what happened online..the summary is, the athlete didn't qualify for that specific event, so they didn't plan for it...but on getting to Paris, 2 weeks before tournament, Egyptian Athlete was disqualified and Nigeria athlete was drawn to fill that gap. Note, she didn't qualify for it..she was preparing for the one she qualified for and had all her equipment ready. So, for this impromptu one, special bicycle was needed and no way they can get it in 2weeks...that's what happened. No fault of NOC. Thirdly, Ofili's name not on 100m..I pin this mistake on Ministry of Sports, Athletes Federation of Nigeria and the Entire Olympics committee...they are all culpable and untill we get a scapegoat..this remains my own position also. Fourthly, 10 athletes missing Olympics was not in 2024 ...you are talking past olympic and this Minister of Sports was not the minister then... exactly why I also believe All our Sports Federation needs proper reform and i think think this Minister can do something |

When you watch the games played at Olympics, you will understand that Nigerian govt is cluless. If Nigerian/state govt can set up half of the games played at Olympics in Nigeria, unemployment will be a thing of the past. These Niger Delta people that literally live in water swimming will not be an issue for for them, what the Fulanis that shoot arrow for fun etc. Localize these games then see how Nigeria will shine. The ministers of sports and development and minister of youths affairs should honourably resign. Sports can comfortably give 3 million Nigerian youths job. |
