Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that he plays squash three times a week

Obasanjo, aged 87, stated this in a video posted by Noire TV on Friday, August 9, 2024.

In the video, as seen by our correspondent, the elder statesman was responding to a male companion who was marvelling at his energetic nature while walking along the corridor into an interview room with his hands behind his back.

The companion, amazed at Obasanjo’s brisk walk, said, “Old soldier never dies. Oh my goodness!” and Obasanjo responded, “They only fade away.”

Afterwards, the ex-president said, “I still play squash three times a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.”

In another short clip, political economist and former presidential candidate Prof. Pat Utomi welcomed Obasanjo, saying, “You are looking sporty again,” in an unsurprised manner, as if familiar with the 87-year-old’s fitness.

Before boarding an awaiting vehicle, a white man (name unknown) approached Obasanjo for a selfie.

He said, “Sir, can I get a quick picture with you, please?” as he moved to catch up with Obasanjo.

When approached to be assisted with his brown leather bag placed on his shoulders, Obasanjo declined, saying, “No. Leave it for me.”

This isn’t the first time Obasanjo has shown off his workout skills.

In March 2024, a video of the former President emerged online when he visited Abia State Governor Alex Otti in Abia State.

Obasanjo briefly shook hands with the governor before jumping on a treadmill in the gym. He later held onto the arms of the treadmill, swung his legs a few times, and then jumped off onto the ground.

God doesn't go back on his promises.
That is why he will always be God.

Sure he is not far from the truth.A 90year old in Europe or America is more likely to live longer than a 30year old in Nigeria.

Because no matter your political leaning, disrespecting an elderly Yoruba man is a taboo.

OBJ may have many skeletons in the cupboard, but he's still an accomplished General, A two time president and well respected home and abroad.

He's crooked and cannot be described as an astute Yoruba Leader, but he's still a Yoruba Elder, that can not be changed and he deserved our respect
