Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), has fired back at Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, stating that he is the real threat to the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP and its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Kano State.

Doguwa, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress, APC, dismissed Jibrin's earlier claims that he posed a threat to the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kano.

"I strongly believe people like Doguwa are the biggest enemies of his party and the President because of such deliberate divisive and reckless actions and utterances which is deepening the already tense atmosphere in Kano,” the statement on Sunday morning revealed.

However, Doguwa reacted in a statement he personally signed on Sunday evening.

According to the statement, Doguwa revealed that his presence in the political landscape is the biggest challenge to the NNPP's hold on the state.

He said, "I'm not a political liability in Kano; instead, as you know, I'm an asset, a source of pride and a goldmine to the APC both in the state and the country.

"Today, I stand tall in the Kano political landscape to be the only member legitimately elected under the platform of the ruling APC in the whole Kano South Senatorial District. Despite all odds, I returned to the House of Representatives with flying colors.

" Yes, I'm the only big threat to the erratic NNPP government and the self-acclaimed national leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso (Of course, my political mate and a colleague in the 3rd Republic at the House of Representatives)," he said.

Addressing allegations from Jibrin regarding the killing of seven people during the 2019 election campaigns, Doguwa pointed out that Jibrin had failed to answer for the accusations himself.

"Like a thief in the night, Jibrin shied away from responding to allegations of the killing of seven persons during the campaign for the 2019 general elections," Doguwa said, referencing the police arrest of Jibrin and 70 others connected to the incident.

Doguwa also criticized the NNPP's performance in Kano, accusing the party of neglecting the state's development.

"NNPP is doing nothing to develop the economic and social well-being of our people and the state. Instead, they ended up chasing shadows and playing the politics of vendetta and vengeance, unfortunately," he stated.

Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Doguwa expressed confidence in his ability to deliver Kano to the APC, calling on the party's leadership to appoint him as the coordinator of the campaign.

"I vouch to deliver APC gubernatorial and presidential results before 12 noon on election day, Insha Allah," Doguwa promised.

He concluded by highlighting his long-standing service in the House of Representatives, emphasizing his integrity and dedication.

"I have never been found to be a traitor, mischievous, or disloyal to any of my principals," Doguwa said.

"My peaceful nature and attitude can best be confirmed by my mutual relationship with my constituents, the traditional rulers, clerics, and above all, my timely support to the different security agents."
