Our parents those Days would help us to safeguard our documents and would only release any to us when there is an urgent need for it. Some children never get to see their Birth certificates until after JAMB when they are seeking admissions into higher institutions.
They kept these credentials either in their Echolac or under the Bed in their Bedrooms where you won't have access to. Some were kept by Dad's in a briefcase or drawer. Anyday u ever open that drawer without Daddy consent, and he gets to find out, you're gone. Otilor...

In my case our documents were kept by our father. He used a nice briefcase which I now use to keep my important documents.

My father kept all ours in his sacred drawer, which he always kept locked.

Now, if you had the mind to open that drawer behind his back, better be sure everything is in the exact place he kept them, otherwise, you would tell him if you were looking for your head there. cheesy

I was surprised one time when he brought out from his drawer one of those bracelets they put on a newborn's wrist in the hospital. It was the one they put on our first born. He kept it.

My police dad only gave me my birth cert when i was about to enter Aau ekpoma that year... Baba locked it inside the same cupboard he kept his gun,bullets and land documents..
I lost it a month later sha

There was a huge wardrobe in my mom room back, thats where she keeps most of her new lace and other clothes she wears for rare occasions, underneath those pile of clothes are several important documents of us, birth certificate, childhood pictures, membership cards, what not

Only her have access to the wardrobe 😂😂😂
