We have not fixed Petrol Price

Our attention has been drawn to headlines announcing “Marketers Project N600/litre for Dangote Petrol” published in Punch Newspapers of Tuesday August 13,2024.

We would like to clarify that Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not our business partner yet. We have never discussed price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with them, and they have no mandate or authority to speak for us, either for good or with hidden transcript.

We urge the public to desist from such speculative announcements. We have our official channels through which we make our views known to our stakeholders.

Toh

The price of petrol is still above N600, so why the fuss?

Speculative announcements and hidden transcripts everywhere.
Re: We Have Not Fixed Petrol Price - Dangote by Hezzyluv:
IPMAN na busy body. Shey na them go talk sey if Dangote begin sell fuel, pump price go be around 600 naira? What if they intend to make the cost lower then #600? Or what if other factors arise and they have to sell above that price? Serves them right to collect upper cut from Dangote's group.

How can they issue a preemptive statement speculating about the prices of another company's products!
Re: We Have Not Fixed Petrol Price - Dangote by malali: 9:36pm On Aug 13, 2024
IPMAN is pitting them up against the public.
Knowing fully well it would be hard for him to break even at that price.

What they did is quite unprofessional. It's not like they even talked to anyone from Dangote. They just pulled some figures from the thin air.

Re: We Have Not Fixed Petrol Price - Dangote by Parable007: 11:28pm On Aug 13, 2024
Sincerely I fear if Dangote will be able to reduce the price of fuel to around 200-300 max. This is what Nigerians want, anything above this is useless. But they are trying to frustrate him from crashing the price.
The it's high time for Nigerians to know that some people benefit more when Nigerian goes bad.

NNPC will supply IPMAN petrol to be sold at 600.
Dangote can decide to sell his at any price.

One thing that won't happen is that Dangote won't be able to solely determine the price of petrol.

Best thing is for him to sell lower than the imported one.
Re: We Have Not Fixed Petrol Price - Dangote by safetyboot: 12:18am On Aug 14, 2024
They want to set Dangote up. Petrol price is relatively same globally, slight difference is caused by shipping cost to different destination. So give and take between 700 / 750 NGN
Re: We Have Not Fixed Petrol Price - Dangote by foliman(m): 12:29am On Aug 14, 2024
Nigeria never cease to amaze me, imagine an association trying to dictate price for a privately owned establishment with no known affiliation.

I can say it times and times again that independent marketers and all these foreign IOCs are behind most of the shameful deed in the Nigeria oil industry.

I hope someday a government with the true love of the populace takes over this country. Some heads need to roll!

Very simple. Same reason Bill Gates is demonized in some quarters. Taking away people's livelihoods - you come into a space with big money (albeit well-intentioned) and spoil people's hustle
