Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their pursuit to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli after the Serie A side lowered their demands.

According to The Times, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has held talks with Chelsea officials in London, where the two parties have been negotiating a deal.

The report claimed that the Blues have been told a bid of £38.5m plus Romelu Lukaku and Cesare Casadei would be enough to persuade them to sell striker Osimhen this summer.

Napoli are trying to sign Lukaku but cannot afford the £40m asking price.

Instead, Antonio Conte’s side have proposed a complex swap deal involving the Belgium international and Casadei.

Osimhen is expected to move from Napoli this summer after he demanded to leave the club.

Someone that is trending at the international market place for months and weeks...

The guy made a huge mistake by signing an extension to his contract. He should have left when the ovation was loud. Now his value is on the decline and age is not really on his side. Instead of having numerous suitors, only Chelsea are on his case.

His spat with Finidi hasn't helped his case also. I pray he gets signed

Nobody really wants oshimhen and that's the bitter truth. I'm a Chelsea fan and knowing how these present or even past owners behave in the transfer market, they would have gotten him a long time ago. Take for instance Pedro neto. Oshimhen is simply too expensive and there are no guarantees that he will perform in the EPL. He's injury record is also not that good and he's demanding astronomical wages on top of all this. He and Napoli simply have to make the deal attractive for suitors or else he's stuck there. To make matters worse, conte doesn't want him but lukaku so I guess all parties would be staring each other down to see who blinks first.
