One thing I know is most Nigerians have no respect for contract. You reach agreement with them, they short change you. If you protest, they'll tell you to do your worst

This is why when entering into contracts with anything that has to do with Nigeria, multinational coys and foreign bodies insist it's included in the contract that in the event arbitration is required when disputes arise owing to breach of contract by one party to the contract, that this will be done by the courts of a third-party country...and the UK is normally the country of choice! This is to avoid a situation where the multinational coy or foreign body has to depend on the insanely corrupt Nigerian judicial system to resolve disputes and run the risk of having their case thrown out on a technicality by a Nigerian judge that has either been intimidated by the gov't or who has just collected some egunje to rule in favour of the Nigerian side!

You read but did not understand as well. When we rush at anything to fulfill our desire to paint others black we may end up confirming our ignorance publicly! The summary of what happened in the article is that Ogun state terminated a contract to manage a free trade zone and appointed another company and the aggrieved company approached the court for damages as it considers the termination a breach of contractual agreement as obtainable in all business deals and the court awarded damages to be paid by Ogun state for breach of contract and not for owing debt. The connection of the federal government is because it is the guarantor of all international dealings of other lower levels of government in Nigeria.
