You’re giving me average . Of course there are hotels that cost over thousands of dollars per night. I know this on a personal level. So the average means nothing. I’m also telling you it’s possible to find a cheap place for around $70-$100. No reason for the argument.

There are dirt cheap hotels that cost that much per day as at now. Much less many years ago. Meaning he could have gotten hotels for that price or less for 24 hours since this supposedly happened years ago.

Na him wan stay New York. In fact even in New York he could have gotten hotels at that price for 24 hours instead of 8 hours and stay the whole day. plus some will serve you breakfast.

Fiction is something outside what REGULARLY obtains, NOT people who'd rather get peanuts than leave a room empty. You gave example of going on vacation - how much you'll expect to pay for a regular hotel room in NYC. If you tell anyone you're budgeting $50 a night, they'll tell you good luck with that!

You can check any hotel site every single day of the week for the next year and you will almost always (large events, disasters, bad weather, and holidays change that) be able to find hotel rooms for LESS than $80 somewhere near NYC. And that's NYC. It's even cheaper in other areas and regions.
