It is a symbol of Slavery. Even the word Igbo means slave and slaves are known to always fight for 'freedom'.
Igbo -> means the ancient.

It is pronounced as Ndi 'gbo meaning the ancient ones.

In addition to the descendants of
Gad
Ephraim and
Maneseh.

Take heart brother Buju Banton, the terrorist Fulani Government of Nigeria is trying to do the same thing (usurp our land) to your brethren in Liegeria. But we are resisting them and would NEVER cede any inch of our land to the Fulani terrorists. It's a constant battle of Good over Evil, and Good must win!

Happiness, is what I feel.

I'll be your friend to the end like Chukky,

Reaching out to the love of my life
Everlasting, see ya

You are the rose in my garden, pretty little flower
Guardian angel and fairy godmother
A friend to the end and also a lover
One and only, you don't need another.

You are the heat in my winter, breeze in my summer.
Love escalating, growing by the hour
You stayed in a me life, when my life seemed sour
You're my energy, the source of my power

That mix tape was fabulous! It had Mad Cobra's Legacy blending into Buju Banton's Make My Day. It had Shaba's Ting-A-Ling-A-Ling (instrumental) blending into Trailer Load of Girls. It had Mariah Carey's Dream Lover, SWV's Right Here and Salt N Pepa's Shoop. It was absolutely fantastic.

naptu2:
Dear diary, over the past 12 years I have told you about how the record company created and released this song in order to cash out on the fame of their former artiste, I have told you about how this song caused massive controversy, leading to protests, demonstrations, boycotts, cancelations, etc

I have also told you about how this song destroyed the career of another artiste (because he defended it) and how, many years later, the original singer regretted that he made the song and ordered that no new copies of it should be released.

I told you that the song was blacklisted and unavailable on the Internet (in fact, back then, I posted the instrumental because the full version had been scrubbed off the internet).

Well, the full version is here now.

The reason for the controversy is because the song's chorus is about killing gays.

I'm not really into the lyrics but the riddim is incredible. In fact, the riddim is actually from the next song. The record company took the original of this song, removed the music and replaced it with this riddim.

I've posted the instrumental below the full version because you've got to listen to the congas. In fact, you must put on your headphones, turn up the bass and listen to the instrumental. It's incredible.
naptu2:
Well. . .

The original song that he did in Jamaica is on YouTube

YES! YES!

It is back on YouTube.

I do not agree with the lyrics, but this song is a masterpiece and everybody should be able to hear this masterpiece.

I have already written about the history of this song, why people protest against it, how it almost ended Buju Banton career and how it ended Shaba's career.

(Basically he is saying that gay people should be killed, though he didn't mean it literally)

Buju Banton - Boom Bye Bye (1992)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZkjSBATth0

I am sure that you know what the next song will be
naptu2:
I know that I said that I would only post songs that are not on the playlist, but I couldn't help myself after seeing Mad Cobra. These are the first two songs on the playlist.

Now diary, remember that I told told you that Boom Bye Bye was about ķilling gays, right? Therefore it's very difficult to find the original song with the original riddim. It's been censored off many sites (I have the original on my phone and laptop).

However, what we have below is the instrumental. There's no toasting (you can't even hear Buju's voice), just the riddim.

Of course after Boom Bye Bye is one of the greatest ragga songs ever.

Him ar sing lik ar roughest toughest bombaclat! Come outta Jamaica! grin

Seriously, he is right. The corrupt Jamaican government has sold many some of the most beautiful part of Jamaica to foreign land developers, you go down the beach to relax, catch, babeque and eat fresh fish, drink rum and punch. Some white guy and bloody Cninese comes and tells you, "this is a private beach" forking Chinkos running chinese businesses and shops alla over Jamaica.

Suddenly these foreigners are going to Jamaica to buy lands and private beaches. They didn't even wanted to live there when the lands was sugarcane plantations.

This is one of the most underrated songs in history.

"Instantly, the woman, she get asthma"

"Ambulance no fi come, dem fi send for the barrow".

It's not one of his big hits, but it's one of his best songs. That dirty saxophone is incredible.

He literally grew up in Fela's house horning his skills as a young guy. His cousin, Nneka also a raggae artists. These guys sing and promote their songs in nigeria. They live mostly in Nigeria.
Buju grow for fela house? Where u read am. I'm just hearing it.
