I read through many replies but I discovered that many commentators here failed to understand that Amosun actually favoured the man that the entire state assembly had put on blacklist before he became governor.
His offense is that he had passion for Pat Ìròmi and wanted to know why he was blacklisted. He even helped him by paying him something he couldn't had gotten in the first place if Amosun ignored him because he had already been blacklisted.
Pat should be grateful for Amosun for coming to rescue him outright losses

Why and when did the Ogun HOA declare Pat Utomi persona non grata? Did he have any bad business history with the Ogun state govt?

So many things we don't know about this issue.

Exactly. A governor who claimed that he mistakenly signed a contract, just to defend himself can actually say anything to tarnish the image of anyone that exposes him.

Many elites in Nigeria have benefited immensely from poor and corrupt governance. Politicians cannot easily steal from government coffers without collaboration with those in the private sector. Government cannot award contracts to itself.

So when people like Utomi and Amosun get into these kinds of fight, it's better to step back and let them expose themselves. It's the only time the average Nigerian get to know how our political and economic elite work hands in hands to rob us of our shared wealth.

I stopped pushing for government contracts many years ago because I have no stomach for shadiness and corruption. Will only accept if it's transparent and on my own terms and not theirs.

I will never forget an advise given to me years ago by an elderly retired civil servant I respect. He said never connive with government officials to steal or deprive the masses of what belongs to them, that eventually it is never well for those who do so, never well for them and their generations.

Utomi is just like that landmark beach owner. They are fraudulent. What the spent in building, does not equate what they demand. Criminal minded people.

As I've tried to tell nairaland members, there are no saints in this country. The politicians only get the bad rap.

When I was trying to be involved in doing things for this country, I met him Utomi. He was a pleasant man, but I was not there to see who was nice to me. I ultimately concluded, along with all the others in the who-know-whos in Nigeria that its all hustling. No one is in there for the betterment of Nigeria and the reputation of the black man in the world. I withdrew, to come on nairaland here to be taking insults from the nondescript ordinary people, rather than join in on the rape of Nigeria under false pretenses.

This is why I listen to politicians also, even though they are crooks. Almost all Nigerians are potential crooks if given the chance, so why should I believe the one that presents themselves as saints against those who have accepted the toga of being crooks? They're far more honest.
