A social media user, Mallam Jabeer, took to social media platform to share the state of drinking water, as readily obtained in some areas of Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Sharing the picture, Mallam Jabeer clarified that the water would have to be bought or families would not have access to water at all.

He went on to query the essence of the government reps if they can't provide potable water for the masses.

"This is the drinking water in Yauri local government area of kebbi state, Nigeria.

The funniest part of it is that you’ve to buy this contaminated water or else you won’t have access to water at all.

What’s the essence of the so called government/representatives if they can’t provide portable drinking water for the people. Is that too much to ask?

Social media users echoed his sentiments, a number of them were shocked, with some confirming that this was indeed true as they have spent time in that area of Kebbi State before now.

He paid for the boreholes himself or it was instead funded by organizations and then he showed up to commission them?

If that man had, in the 7 years he served as governor of Anambra State, set up a decent working Water purification plant in one of the many LGAs in the state and had clean drinking water supplied to even 1/10th of the population in the LGA, he would have maybe set himself apart from all the other Kakistocrats Nigeria has had in the last 25 years. But he did absolutely none of that. He is, after all is said and done, just another kakistocrat. 🤔
