BREAKING!!! NLC Threatens Nationwide Strike if Police Arrests, Detains President Ajaero | #Politicsnigeria

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike if its President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, is detained over allegations of terrorism financing by the Nigerian Police.

The leadership of the union made this declaration on Tuesday morning at its headquarters, following an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting convened to discuss the police invitation extended to Ajaero.

After deliberations, the NEC resolved that Ajaero should honour the police invitation, but with the caveat that their legal adviser should seek an extension of time for the NLC President to appear before the police authorities.

Comrade Ado Kabiru Sani, the Deputy President of the NLC, addressed the press.

He said, “As a committed labour center, we wihonournor the invitation of the police because we are not a faceless organization, but we are working with our lawyer for an extension of time.

“In the event that the President is arrested, all workers will down tools immediately. We should wait for further directives from our leadership.”

Nonsense. He better gets lawyer and go defend himself in court. Even a sitting IGP was arrested. prosecuted and jailed for committing crime. He is not above the law and this is not an allegation against the NLC. Treason and terrorism financing are serious charges so he better stops playing to the gallery.
