Most of the remittances are from oversea sojourners to relatives back home. Millions of Nigerians have actually left this country for abroad within the last 2years. You are a king in Hell if you have relatives to remit money to you in Nigeria.

130% increase from 2023 same period is very good.

But I want that figure to be up to $1billion + per month. Cardoso you can do this.
Nigerians in the diaspora are doing this. The dollars are transferred to Nigerian banks, which pay the recipient in Naira and retain the dollars.

Give Nigeria in the diaspora the right to vote.

Dey play! I no blame you as Naira never hit 3k; that time you go no the meaning of exchange rate stability, and the importance of liquidity, partly brought about by diaspora remittances.

Nigeria government need dollars and pounds to meet obligations such as payments of goods and services on behalf of those importing items from China and rest of the world. Payment of schools fees for those schooling abroad, medical and other services .. Etc

Cbn sells this FX to bank and banks helps facilitate this transaction between traders.

Lastly the more dollars Nigeria have and are able to meet backlogs of FX request the better our naira gets to strengthened

given your last take, are you saying Nigeria doesn't have enough dollars, that's why the Naira is weak against the dollar? Because I want to believe diaspora remittance aren't the only way Nigeria can source for forex, there must be other ways, and if diaspora remiitance can remit this amount, I wonder why other aspects aren't.
