Today, @Taskforce112 carried out a thorough operation on Kosoko Street in the Berger area, confiscating dozens of vehicles that had been causing severe traffic disruptions and as untold hardship to commuters. The majority of the seized vehicles were mini commercial buses, commonly known as "korope," which had illegally occupied an entire lane on both sides of the road. This unauthorized parking and encroachment not only created a nuisance but also led to a substantial buildup of traffic, obstructing the free flow of vehicles and pedestrians along the busy route.

During the operation, one driver of a private vehicle known as “kabu-kabu” who tried to evade arrest from the officials attempted to run them over with his vehicle. His reckless act led to his immediate arrest.

@followlasg has reiterated its commitment to maintaining sanity and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic across the Metropolis. This operation serves as a stern warning to commercial drivers and other road users about the consequences of willfully obstructing traffic especially at petrol stations.

It's a good gesture, but did they arrest the Lastma officers over there controlling the area?
Go to major bus stop causing the nuisance, you shall see traffic operatives turning there eyes away from this nuisance caused by these bus drivers. In some days time they shall return to that same place with police and traffic officers standing bye and watching

Nice one, anything to ease the traffic,Lagos is too congested, everybody want to live in Lagos,I spent 5-6hours in traffic,when I went to deliver herbs for a customer in Lekki area,the customer offered me money for hotel for me to rest and appreciate me and job well done.

I collected the money and came back to my Ibadan that same day.

I can tell you that those Korope impounded are for non Lasma & Task force officers. They do this occasionally to frustrate non members from joining the business. If you know you know.

Kudos to the Lagos State taskforce... It seems they're going from local government to local government... Their presence in the evening at Iyana-Ipaja underbridge has helped in easing traffic in that axis

However, I think government needs to go beyond this to also arrest the NURTW chairmen in those areas also... Na them dey collect security and load money from these buses... That is what gives them the effrontery to block one section of the road and turn it to garage

Once the chairmen know they'll be arrested and dealt with if such occurs in their territory, they'll be the ones ensuring things are in order...

Side note: Imo state government needs to come learn from Lagos State taskforce... The entire stretch of road from Mbaise park to St. Paul Na busstop and garage... You no go even see where to pass as a pedestrian
