Many of us corpers were posted to Sabon Birni. Some of us were posted to Gattawa itself which was about 45 minutes away.
These corpers spend two days in Gattawa and then spend the remaining days with us at Sabon Birni.
Sokoto State was very very peaceful back then.

I lived and worked in the far North for a while too back in Jonathan's administration.

I left there towards the election period that ushered in Apc.

I remember telling my friends that peaceful places like Katsina, Sokoto, Niger, etc, were on the verge of being handed over to terrorists.

A lot of them insulted me, and called me Enemy of the nation.

Buhari thought that allowing these foreigners into Nigeria will help him solidify power for the north.
