I can't use a virtual card to book a hotel. Even if payment was successful online, by the time you show up during your arrival, a physical copy will still be required to swipe and confirm identity. God just saved me from embarrassment in June in the US. The receptionist didn't even collect cash as an alternative. I had to look for another hotel nearby, where cash was accepted. I'd have been stranded.

In as much as the virtual card is good, the physical one is much better.

I was using Eversend initially and the charge was always around 1690, someone told me about Providus card and gave me a contact.

I chatted the person up and he asked for the normal docs required for opening account in Nigeria.

I was charged 5k for they card.
You must make a 100k deposit that you can withdraw anytime.

The card was delivered to me via DHL

It was from the 100k that they deducted their 5k charge for the card.

I have used it twice this week and the rates is fair.

My review on this app as at today.

This app is scam and no one should and I repeat ever try to make use of it.

First their exchange rate to dollar is ridiculous. 1850 per dollar and if you want to withdraw to Naira, their exchange rate is 1050 per dollar. So they’re making a profit of 800 per dollar.

Secondly you can’t use the card to pay for international transaction because it keeps declining.

Thirdly, I tried to withdraw my wasted money I funded into the card to the Naira account and it took almost 5hrs for it to process. That’s not all. I then tried to transfer the money from their app to my Nigeria bank account after a ridiculous exchange rate and till today, I haven’t receive any money.

I got angry and close down the account because I can confirm it’s scam.

Don’t really know why it was promoted here at the first place.

NB: don’t use this app or else you will regret
