Chigboz:COS. secondly, if you want her via Health and care route. Let her also take phlebotomy certification or Clinical/medical Assistant as an addon. For sure, she will. Also do not neglect to get a good professional profiling to be added to her CV. She can go for the NVQ in Nigeria Thanks All this you people are just typing I don't understand. NvQ this and that. Certification is good especially people already in the UK that wants carrier progression not people in Nigeria. Nurses find it very difficult to get jobs from Nigeria (I mean nurses who have passed both. CBT and IELTS exams) talk more of ordinary career. It's becoming very difficult for people inside the UK with post graduate visa to get Cos not to mention people in Nigeria. The best route one can easily migrate now is through school because most sold Cos the company doesn't have jobs for you. |

Good evening everyone, I hope you had a wonderful day today....... My brother has completed his class work for master's degree program in child and Adolescent mental health CAMH, but only remaining his project research defense which will is expected this November, after which he can request for notification of result, his first degree is BSc psychology, his aim now is to travel to the UK given the type of course he's studying as he's finding it difficult to get a paid placement to practice. please I will need your honest advice/opinions on this following questions 1) Will it be easy to get a job in the UK from Nigeria despite not having any paid work experience? Please any ideas that encompasses how, route and methods will be well appreciated. 2) Since he is yet to finish his program (remaining only project defense) if the response to the above question is positive, can he start the process of relocating or looking for job now or he should hold on till he finishes the program? Thanks so much for your anticipated assistance. |

Fiestafetta:Let me answer you with all sincerity, the answer is NO. The people in the UK with UK experience finding it very difficult to get jobs with sponsorship, talk more of someone with zero Nigeria experience. In the UK, experience matters a lot and many people lie about experience to get jobs. So your brother either look for someone who will give him reference, I mean hospital with official domain name and lie in his CV that he worked for the hospital for minimum of 5years and also add that he took care of your grand parents when they are sick for like another 5years, then add your uncles and any other person. Finally, he will be ready to defend the lies because this people can easily detect who is lying. He should read very well about mental health, safeguarding, learning disabilities and autism and also prepare his CV in European standard. Then maybe just maybe he may be lucky but the chances are 1/5000. |

Childofgrace18:Thanks so much for your quick and honest response. Quick one, he had mhGAP training and has his certificate already, he has been working under supervision of psychiatric consultants and other mental health professionals presently at the teaching hospital for his mandatory internship, he is assigni to carry out clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment formulation according to him. Do you know other route he can explore maybe route that will be less rigorous and can afford him UK experience? Once again, thank you for your response. |

Fiestafetta:You can't acquire The UK experience in Nigeria. The truth is that he needs experience even nurses and doctors needs experience before NHS starts considering and shortlisting them for interviews. He needs to get like 3years experience or more to have a better chance, but the truth is that even with Nigeria experience, it is very difficult this days for care homes and NHS to sponsor people outside the UK. Jobs with COS are hot cake in the UK now. |

Teeforeal:What do you mean by she has bed? Meanwhile, if she is in Nigeria and has a first degree not related to education, let her go and register for PGDE at NTI just one year. Then register for TRCN exam. Registration is ongoing and exam is November. But if she's in UK with you, she need to register for QTS exam. These qualifications qualify her to teach in UK. My one cent |

Fiestafetta:My background is B.A Counselling Psychology, GMBPsS (Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society). Msc Clinical Child Psychology and I work in the Neurodevelopmental Assessment specialty here in London. Your brother's first step must be to get his GMBPsS accreditation from the British Psychological Society as the accreditation testifies to any UK employer that his Nigerian degree in Psychology meets the UK standard and once he gets the accreditation, he will be eligible to apply for Assistant psychologist roles in the UK. He should get a mental health facility to work in Nigeria, no matter how low the salary may be as it is important to have real work experience. |

For those asking about teaching job, package your cv very well, and start applying through indeed, TES and so many other agencies. The truth is you only need to be a registered teacher in Nigeria with years of experience to get a job and of course pray very hard. I am a living witness, i got a teaching job directly into a school from Nigeria, i landed in the uk last Wednesday without any help from any body or agency. My school is in Kent, the Lord has been so good to me. If you are a science teacher, your chance is very high provided you are ready to do the hard work of updating your cv, searching for schools and submitting tons applications. Cover letter and personal statement are also very important. All the best |

| Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by Octrem: 7:19pm On Aug 27, 2024 |
alakara:Yes you can, then you register with TRCN for your certificate and license. Teaching experience is key though. |

alakara:1) Get ready to cry with NTI. 2) If your first degree is not in a teaching subject, forget about this pathway. |
