The supreme Court has affirmed the re-election of Hope Uzodinma as the authentic governor of Imo state.

The apex court dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and its governorship candidate Samuel Anyawu and that of the Labour Party and it’s candidate Achonu Nneji for lacking in merit.

It is the same in almost all 36 states of Nigeria by the way. People don't demand the impeachment of their bad leaders even when the Constitution hands them the right to do so as many times as they need to succeed(if you fail try again and again until you succeed). undecided

I said on the other thread that Nigeria judiciary is for the highest bidder. This, right here, confirms my assertion. Here is governor Hope Uzodinma, who came 4th in the Imo State guber elections four years ago. How he came from fourth position to becoming the governor based on Supreme Court judgement is the 8th wonder of the world, all because his party, the APC, was and still the ruling party at the center.

Nigerian judiciary has long gone to the dogs!

What really baffle me is the insensitivity of these people. They are calling him supreme governor, that he was installed as the governor by supreme Court. Then he beat the next opponent by wide margin in the next election.
Can this even happen in Osun or Oyo state. It is as if Imo indigenes were sleeping during the election. Probably they want Tinubu right from Abuja to come and make a change for them.
Instead of asking themselves why they love money to the extent of allowing evil to prevail they are attacking federal government and INEC. Where is sense in this.

Hope Uzodinma had more votes in the election than Peter Obi, Tinubu and Atiku presidential votes combined, meanwhile there was a serious voter aparthy during the governorship election

Supreme court is not village square with elders breaking kola and judging based on sentiments and emotion.

The legal profession is about intricate technicalities, procedural frameworks, and established norms as integral components. You could be right and still fail to prove your case in court.

Nothing unexpected

He won in all local governments.

After that election day I haven’t seen Imo people criticize him again because the people on ground voted for him.

In fact when I asked his former critic on social media about updates on Election Day, the response I got was “those politicians are all the same”

Whether they were induced financially or not, they went to polling units and thumbprinted for him

You can’t win an election easily in a state where you’re highly unpopular. There will be widespread rigging and ballot box snatching for that to happen. I didn’t hear news of that magnitude of rigging

It’s not like Bul@ba’s election where the servers stopped working and officials manually rewrote figures.

Yet the current Supreme Court (with Kekere-Ekun as one of its members) was exactly what you described. The Akpabio and Lawan decision made by the same Supreme Court not long ago is another example. Of course, there are several other examples of the Supreme Court sidestepping the Constitution to mention as well. undecided
