AndroBlaze:

I always ask myself, how Ekun is Tiger when Tigers are not native to Yorubaland or even Africa as a whole. Does it mean our forefathers were giving names and naming themselves after imaginary animals they never saw? Its not logical seeing as the word "Ekun" has probably been in use for at least a 150 years or so.

That's why I agree with those who insist it means leopard. Probably a bigger kind of leopard but still a leopard
Leopard may have existed in the past. Some animals have gone into extinction by pouchers and or migrated to other places. Definitely leopard existed in Yoruba land to have been given a name.

I am not sure you understood what I said. Leopards still exist in the Southwest and the proper name for them is "Ekun". "Amotekun" is cheetah, which also existed in the SW. "Ekun", for people who understand the Yoruba culture cannot mean Tiger because it never existed at the time the expression was originally formed and in use.

She is the second woman to be sworn-in as CJN

Landmark decisions
Kekere-Ekun upturned the decisions of the lower Court and tribunal, thereby preparing and delivering the judgement that sacked Emeka Ihedioha and affirmed Odidika Hope Uzodinma as Governor of Imo State.

She also prepared and delivered the judgement that affirmed Yahaya Bello as Governor of Kogi State following the imbroglio between the APC & Yahaya Bello against James Faleke after the death of Abubakar Audu.

She prepared and delivered the judgement that affirmed ex-Osun Governor, Gboyega Oyetola against Ademola Adeleke in 2020, citing the absence of the Tribunal chair in one of the sittings.

Kekere-Ekun also prepared and delivered the judgement that affirmed PDP's Nyesom Wike against Dakuku Peterside in 2016, after the tribunal and Appeal Court had nullified Wike's victory and called for a fresh election.
An impressive profile of the new CJN.

She subsequently attended the Nigerian Law School from 1980 to 1981 and was called to the Nigerian Bar on 10th July 1981. From 1981 to 1982, she was engaged in the compulsory NYSC at the Ministry of Justice, Benin City, Bendel State (now Edo State). Afterwards, she proceeded to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where she obtained a master’s degree in law in 1983.

After qualifying as a lawyer and obtaining a Master’s degree in law from LSE, she worked in private law practice for a few years.

That's another great feat right above from among the elite London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prominent lawyers that I know right off the bat who graduated from the elite LSE in London are Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Wale Tinubu who is the Group Chief Executive of Oando PLC, and Tunde Folawiyo of Folawiyo Group who was educated at the London School of Economics, where he obtained a B.Sc. degree in economics in 1980, and an LL. B in 1984, etc.

Why is she bearing the name Kekere ,is she dwarf?
It is a prominent Lagos Family name.

She is a thorough bred Omo-Eko (Faniro-Ogundinmu-Savage-KekereEkun).

Remember her brother-in-Law, Architect Nosirudeen Kekere-Ekun was a Commisioner in Lagos under MB Marwa and contested against Bola Tinubu in 1999 gubernatorial election in Lagos state.

The family patriarch was nicknamed Kekere-Ekun ( meaning the younger Tiger in Yoruba language)

Good point. I will take time to study the reference. I always thought that we had tiger in Southwest more so the popular something Agu worn by igbos are decorated by tiger's head. Since southeast is still south with the same geographical location. I thought they understand what tiger really looks like.
