AndroBlaze:Leopard may have existed in the past. Some animals have gone into extinction by pouchers and or migrated to other places. Definitely leopard existed in Yoruba land to have been given a name. |

MightySparrow:I am not sure you understood what I said. Leopards still exist in the Southwest and the proper name for them is "Ekun". "Amotekun" is cheetah, which also existed in the SW. "Ekun", for people who understand the Yoruba culture cannot mean Tiger because it never existed at the time the expression was originally formed and in use. https://globalvoices.org/2020/01/30/nigerias-operation-amo%CC%A9te%CC%A9kun-was-it-named-after-a-leopard-cheetah-or-tiger/#:~:text=This%20proverb%20affirms%20that%20Yor%C3%B9b%C3%A1,skins%2C%20compared%20with%20the%20tiger. |

fergie001:An impressive profile of the new CJN. She subsequently attended the Nigerian Law School from 1980 to 1981 and was called to the Nigerian Bar on 10th July 1981. From 1981 to 1982, she was engaged in the compulsory NYSC at the Ministry of Justice, Benin City, Bendel State (now Edo State). Afterwards, she proceeded to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where she obtained a master’s degree in law in 1983. After qualifying as a lawyer and obtaining a Master’s degree in law from LSE, she worked in private law practice for a few years. That's another great feat right above from among the elite London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prominent lawyers that I know right off the bat who graduated from the elite LSE in London are Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Wale Tinubu who is the Group Chief Executive of Oando PLC, and Tunde Folawiyo of Folawiyo Group who was educated at the London School of Economics, where he obtained a B.Sc. degree in economics in 1980, and an LL. B in 1984, etc. |

paxonel:It is a prominent Lagos Family name. She is a thorough bred Omo-Eko (Faniro-Ogundinmu-Savage-KekereEkun). Remember her brother-in-Law, Architect Nosirudeen Kekere-Ekun was a Commisioner in Lagos under MB Marwa and contested against Bola Tinubu in 1999 gubernatorial election in Lagos state. The family patriarch was nicknamed Kekere-Ekun ( meaning the younger Tiger in Yoruba language) |
